I'm trying very hard to read Changeless (The Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger . It's a really easy read but I don't really like the author's style: I hate her many Americanisms inserted into her pseudo-English and I find her humour banal and just a far cry from humerous in general. In short, I don't know why I'm putting myself through the pain of attempting to read it when obviously I really don't like the series.

I know what you mean, it doesn't really fit in with the characters but I thought it was a nice quirk to add. =)

message 765: by Nichole (new)

Nichole Chase Okay, Char. I just finished The Goddess Test. I really enjoyed it. It is a really different take on things, and there is a twist at the end some people may have not liked... however, I saw it coming from a mile away. Still an enjoyable read, though!

I also read Natural Selection ~ Forces of Nature Book One this weekend and loved it. She's an indie like me, but I wouldn't say it was awesome if it wasn't! Definitely worth a read.

Well done Jeshu - I'm glad you found it worth the effort. The only thing worse than forcing yourself to finish a book and being disappointed at the end, is forcing yourself to finish a really long book and being disappointed at the end, lol.

To quote someone you might be familiar with "I have it on my TBR", lol.

I'm just going to read a couple of others before I move onto it. I found You Against Me really moving so I'm guessing Before I Die is going to totally ruin me. I have to try and alternate my books between light and heavy otherwise I get all emotionally drained. :)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Emma wrote: "To quote someone you might be familiar with "I have it on my TBR", lol."

I can't think who. :P Yeah, I have to do that too. I can't read a whole bunch of depressing books in one go lol. :)

Likewise, if I read loads of fluff I start to need something more thought-provoking to prevent my brain from vegetating.

message 794: by Char (new)
