I liked Sabriel the best! I didn't think Lirael was as good as it was very slow. Abhorsen was better than Lirael.

There's a new one due out next year: Clariel: The Lost Abhorsen. It's about the abhorsen who becomes Chlorr of the Mask (or however her name was spelt). I'm looking forward to that one!

Lol, I do it all the time. Anyone who knows me on here can tell you that from the size of my TBR. I'm meant to be reading Wuthering Heights, I've been putting it off for the past two months. The Mediator series are great books though. They're some of Meg Cabot's best.

message 606: by Sandra "Jeanz" (new)

Sandra "Jeanz" will get round to giving them a go eventually lol

message 607: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Lol, I'm exactly the same. =)

I have finally given up on The Madness of a Seduced Woman (Plume) by Susan Fromberg Schaeffer . I feel bad because I hate leaving books unfinished but at the same time, I read to enjoy myself and trying to read that book was not fun. To lessen my guilt I will take it to a charity shop in the hope that someone else picks it up and enjoys it!

I've started reading the Group read Wolfsangel (Craw Trilogy, #1) by M.D. Lachlan which seems good so far, and also Pretties (Uglies, #2) by Scott Westerfeld because I just finished Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld .

It was a bit slow to start with but I really liked it. Have you read the rest of the series?

message 611: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) No I haven't I meant to, but I haven't around to it. You have seen my TBR right. ? =P

message 612: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I'm going to start Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters in the morining. How disgusting is that cover? Lol

Malik Sulaiman (Malikinho) | 8 comments Just started reading "The Alchmest" I hope I will like it, everyone say that it is the perfect dreamer stroy kinda of thing. Though I have problem with novels that has small very small font that feels it's sticking together, I feel words are all together.

How short is short, Malik?
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom is (what I consider) short and I enjoyed it a lot.

I know what you mean about the words smudging together. I also get that with small print that's not well-spaced.

I don't think it will ever be finished. Think how many books you will have accumulated by the time you have uploaded the ones you already have. It'll be like painting the Forth Bridge, once you get to the end you'll have to start all over again, lol.

I was having that with Game of Thrones and as people kept talking to me I had to switch to a book with a different spaced font because I kept getting lost and rereading bits or skipping others! So I started Thirteen Reasons Why... then I sat down to lunch and my mum picked up my book, started reading and wouldn't give it back! So I ended up reading my dad's old children's encyclopedia to British history. I managed all the way up to King Charles II from William the Conqueror. I'll read the remaining part of it next time I'm in France! :p

message 624: by Nichole (new)

Nichole Chase I'm about to start the Goddess Test, which I have been looking forward to. I also just bought the 2nd book in the Forgotten Souls series by Tiffany King. The first one was really good, so I have high hopes for this next installment!

I've heard not so great things about The Goddess Test... let me know what you think of it, Nichole! :)

Kyle, I'm getting the feeling that you're a horror afictionado! :p What's Never Look Away about? It doesn't have a synopsis on here.

I've started reading Wolfsangel (Craw Trilogy, #1) by M.D. Lachlan for the group read... but last night The Dead Travel Fast by Deanna Raybourn was calling out to me and I had to answer the call. So I'm mixing the two.

That's exactly what I'm doing with Wolfsangel (Craw Trilogy, #1) by M.D. Lachlan , reading it in tandem with others. I like it so far but other books just seem to be distracting me.

I've got the distractions as well. I just can't settle at the moment but I know why it is. I'm surprised I'm even managing to get any reading done I'm so antsy right now!

I've never read any George Eliot, Ghadeer, but I've heard good things about Silas Marner.

That sounds an interesting book, Sandra. Well, "interesting" in the same way that a car crash is "interesting" - a horrible thing but you just can't tear your eyes away from it all.

Oooh Miss Peregrine's is at the top of my "to buy" list! How did you like it? Do you think it's worth getting it while it's still in expensive paperback format or waiting until a cheaper mass market paperback version is released?

Nichole Chase Rea wrote: "I've heard not so great things about The Goddess Test... let me know what you think of it, Nichole! :)"

Will do! Everything I have read about it is either good or bad. Not a lot of between reviews. Sounds like an interesting concept though- so I figured, why not?

Are you enjoying it still or by the 'aaaah' can we assume it's become a grudge-match?

I read The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask when I was about eleven years old - I remember really enjoying them but I can't believe I had the patience.

message 642: by Jeshu (new)

Jeshu (jeshusauria) Hahahaha, well so far I'm enjoying it, a lot, but I want to end it now and there are still like... 500 pages in my way XD

message 648: by Kindle (new)

Kindle Fun | 1 comments New to the Group and love what everyone is recommending. I have just finished Through an Icon's Eyes by Grace Conti. Literary historical fiction, really compelling real characters with a huge magical realism slant. Couldn't put my kindle down! Love story with murder and heresy, loss and betrayal. Says on amazon that the author is giving royalties to Breast Cancer Research too! Added bonus. Best read of the summer so far.

message 649: by [deleted user] (new)

Jeshu wrote: "Hahahaha, well so far I'm enjoying it, a lot, but I want to end it now and there are still like... 500 pages in my way XD"

Wow, 500 pages is longer than most of the novels I am tending to read at the moment.

Sometimes when I'm reading a classic that's really long I'll read one whole chapter every few days whilst I have another book on the go. Dickens is great for that because most of his novels were written in a serial format anyway.

R.L. Mathewson (rlmathewson) | 3 comments I'm reading Black Magic Woman just started it a few days ago. Big fan of Christine Warren, but it has a slow start, but I'm hoping it gets better.
