Bella is a stupid idiot who thinks that her world revolves around Edward!! You can tell this by looking at how she breaks down when Edward leaves. Even though she's being anti-social, she's really going "WWWAAAAAAAAAAA EDWARD IS GONE!!! WAAAAAAAA I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HIME WAAAAAA!!! WHERE DID HE GO, WHY DID HE LEAVE ME ALONE????

message 454: by [deleted user] (new)

Personally even though I am one of the lovers you despise so much I don't like Bella at all.
She's a cowardly whore who lets some sparkly freak ass run her life.

message 455: by Luna (new)

Luna | 871 comments well I dont despise the lovers, I just find the ones who say that were retarded and have never read the books and invade our group to tell us we suck really annoying

Nellie☠Dog Biscuit Nevermore☠ yesh, very annoying

Rose wrote: "XD lol Wow, I've never heard a lover say that!

Just goes to show how life is full of surprises!!"

I do like the story but when you think about it with your gray matter it is messed up.

Know offense but this idiot in the Lover's group today said something about people who don't like Twilight don't have a brain and have no taste in books. If they would have said that to me in person I would have slapped the idiot

message 461: by [deleted user] (new)

Shes a terrible clingy needy person who likes her stalker men with no personality

message 462: by Madeline (new)

Madeline (madelinemoghimi) yeah

message 463: by [deleted user] (new)

i agree!

Christina wrote: "Shes a terrible clingy needy person who likes her stalker men with no personality"

Exactly

message 465: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments Yeah, pretty much.

message 466: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments Although you could also add the fact that she goes for the whole self-pity thing a lot.

message 467: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments I would never fall in love with a vampire. Even if they were veggies. GET OUT OF MY LIFE YA FREAK!

message 468: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments I don't think I'd fall in love with a vampire. Well, a SPARKLEPIRE, anyway.

message 469: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 130 comments Bella also has no hobbies, no outside interests.

message 470: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments Partially right, this is what Bella doesn't have.
1) A life
2) A brain
3) Eyes (she can't see that all these boys are in love with her)
4) The abilityy to be truthful (YOU AREN'T SHY)
5) The word no in her vocabulary
6) The ability to use VIOLENCE and acctually punch someone a couple times instead of always being saved by that Sparklepire WHO SHOULD GO DIE IN A HOLE (no sunglight will get him then)

Bla bla bla, more things....to lazy to name them...

message 471: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 130 comments But the really annoying thing is that she has no HOBBIES. Everyone has hobbies!

message 472: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments She has no life outside the romance. Nothing. You are so right!!!

message 473: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 130 comments And every time Edward appears we need the full rundown on how 'beautiful' 'velvet voiced' 'Adonis-like' 'godlike' Edward is.

plus no teen reads Jane Austen for fun.

message 474: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments Yes! I was going to say that on one of these thingys but I must have forgotten. In SM's awful things she calls books, Edward is the prettiest vamp, and Bella is so modest and sweet, and every boy likes her.

WHAT IS NOT WRONG WITH THAT?!?!?

In Jane Austin's novels, the good guy is never the prettiest one, and the girl in never perfect and is in some cases far from it.

That SM woman got too carried away.

message 475: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 130 comments she was even more in love with her characters than her fans were.

message 476: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments *Barf* She probably asks her fans questions like, 'So who's your favoite character?' And where's Twilight shirts wherever she goes.

message 477: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 130 comments Probably.

message 478: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments I HATE THAT!Oh, sorry, meant to say wears, bad me! Bad! It's like all she need to do is soak up in her wrongfully accquired fame!

message 479: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments Thank you, thank you.

message 480: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments Haha ;)

Okay, as for the word 'velvet' used as an adjective- I am NEVER EVER going to use that, just because of the abundant overuse of it in the Twilight series. *shudder*

message 481: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments It's like SM has nothing better to do than describe how beautiful Edward is.

message 482: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments Ya. O_O It's like, "Okay, you just spent the last FIVE PAGES describing Edward's face! NOW GET ON WITH THE STORY ALREADY!!" Blah...

message 483: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments It's like Mary Sue and Gary Stu, very cliched.

message 484: by Luna (new)

Luna | 871 comments Rose wrote: "It's like SM has nothing better to do than describe how beautiful Edward is."

I know right! And she's not that good at it either, she uses the same adjectives A LOTTTTTTTT.

message 485: by ~Perisi Kitty~ (new)

~Perisi Kitty~ . (haikudancer) | 72 comments They Bella so helpless. It gives us women a bad name. We not all helpless and pathetic!

message 486: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments EWWWW!!! Bella's a wimp, seriously, just slap Edward cross the face for once in your life. Especially that part when he rips her open.

message 487: by Mutt (new)

Mutt | 98 comments People were so close to figuring out the reason for the book's popularity. Here it is:

Bella isn't a character, but a suit that the reader puts on to become the character of Bella. There is so little to her that the only way to make her bearable is to insert your own personality. Thus, she becomes EXACTLY LIKE YOU! You have the opportunity to take part in the story, so folks with no drive to have REAL adventures can still feel like they still have lives.

Being used like that, if I were Bella, I'd never stop punching myself in the face...

message 488: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments Sorry, I don't do Spider-Man. I'm not big on superheroes. ;)

And YES!! I TOTALLY agree with the Bella Suit thing! That's exactly how I've been wanting to describe it for a year and a half now, yet I haven't quite figured out how to say it... now I have :)

I, for one, definitely didn't mind Bella's choices while wearing the Suit, of course. Now that's it's off, I'm ready to burn it. Because once you take the Suit off, step back, and look at the big picture of the books, you kinda go "Oh. That's pretty stupid, Bella."

message 489: by Lizbeth (new)

Lizbeth | 1 comments also bella is an obsessed bitch
no one is like that com on!!
and yea exactly what emma said is edward a faggot?
he doesnt even want bella or someting?
and bella seems very perverted

message 490: by Demi (new)

Demi | 21 comments Hahhaha I like the name of this discussion, and I like the Bella-suit thing!!

The other way to look at it is instead of SM writing "I" as Bella, she should have replaced it with "you."

i.e. You look at Edward, and he sighs and puts his hand on your arm. You jump inwardly.

(not an actual exert - acctually it would be interesting to do it with the real words in the novel.)
Seriously - wouldnt the whole book be much more effective to people who wish they were in Bella's shoes if it were written like that!!!

Or better yet SM should have called Bella "Steph" LOL!

message 491: by Nightshade (new)

Nightshade | 1257 comments Haha, yeah. XD

message 492: by Demi (new)

Demi | 21 comments Rose wrote: "She wanted to except her publisher didn't let her. (Just making this up, if it turns out to be true...OMFG I knew it!! >.<)

But don't give Smeyer any ideas of continuing the series!!

Smeyer: I've..."

bahahahaha
it'd be funny if the publisher was like..."Um Stephanie...we have to change all the "You's" to "I's," then we'll publish your books.

And she'd spend ages editing the book lol! But she keeps the "real" copy in a draw at home which she refers to when she's feeling down. LOL

message 493: by Demi (new)

Demi | 21 comments hahah sorry Steph!

message 494: by Rose (new)

Rose (iceclaw) | 2069 comments Nah, Steph deserves it. I was going to say something else, but I forgot it XD. I remember now! If someone wants themselves in a book, go read one of those 'Make Your Own Advenure' Books. I could never get them, you always need a bookmark, never read one of them if you don't have one.

Though Mutt, your Bella Suit is very good.

message 495: by Simona-- (new)

Simona-- I'm kind of intense (completelyinsane) | 806 comments Rose wrote: "I guess that's the difference between what makes a fan of the books and a hater. The people who liked it didn't mind Bella's choices when they were wearing the "Bella Suit," and the people who hate..."

YES! *cheers* Go SYMBIOTE! CMON VENOM!! LET'S GOOO!
Swy, Venom and Carnage are too cool!

Olivia ^^The Awesome Mushroom^^ (canttaketheawesomeness) | 756 comments Hi, I'm new to this group...

I hate Bella, I mean, what kind of character is she?

Let's analyze...

She is a disobedient, self-pitying, clingy, needy, whiny braggart that smells good and falls down often.

Never has there been such a deep and meaningful character...=.=

message 497: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (jedisakora) | 28 comments I believe Bella can be summed up in a few simple words: WORST ROLE MODEL OF ALL TIME FOR WOMEN

I've studied women like her in my school classes and they're called "battered women". Seriously what woman in her right mind things that having a stalking, abusive, controlling boyfriend is all right. Needless to go into the fact that they have no ambition but marry said boy. I've written papers on how women like this suffer and can't get out of these abusive relationships. The character of Bella is telling girls to get into them. I've known girls who've been stalked and beaten by boyfriends. It's no romantic, yet this character is telling girls it is.

I weep for the future of female kind though because of this character. I love reading romance books and i can say even the most wimpish female heroine is saying this girl is an freaking idiot.

message 498: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (jedisakora) | 28 comments Exactly Rose. The said part is that i've already seen it take effect. My cousin was beaten, controlled, and all out abused by her ex-husband. Believe it or not her 14 year old daughter loves Twilight. I tried explaining to Alex why twilight is bad. After all her mom suffered through what many characters in series go through, but it's not love like the characters say it is. It was like talking to a brick wall.

She can't see the harm in the behaviors that were expressed in the book. Yet her mother suffered through most of them. Worst part is that her mother displays what many women who go through in these relationship in that they don't believe they guy did anything wrong. She divorced the guy because of his drug use and not because of what he did to her. I weep for my second cousins future because twilight has reinforced the behaviors she saw at home and she doesn't see the harm in them.

message 499: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (jedisakora) | 28 comments Oh, good idea. I'll suggest it. I'm just glad that Alex's younger sister is only 9 and is too young for the twilight crap.

message 500: by Nightshade (new)
