Exactly! In the 30 years I have been in FL that is only the 2nd one that was even close to where we live. The first one was a few miles away - 2 blocks is just WAY too close!

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick and Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto were both too juvenile for me. I didn't like either of them. BUT..If you like one one, you'll probably like the other. They are very soulmate destined(if that makes any sense) type books. I think they would do well in middle and high school age range, but personally I didn't find them great.

Jo (jowillwrite) | 26 comments I'm reading The Fiddler's Gun (Fin's Revolution, #1) by A.S. Peterson ... I think I'm the only person reading it who hasn't been completely blown away with it. I feel like there's something wrong with me..
I'm loving Peterson's writing style, the lush world he creates and the sense of history (my knowledge of the American Civil War is limited, so I'm presuming it's historically accurate?), but it's a bit slow and the action is very few and far between.

Absolutely besotted with Fin though, she reminds me of Katniss circa book numero one. Bit trigger-happy though...
I'm going to stick with it...but I'm a bit disappointed with it.

Traci About 150 pages into Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green .. not sure what's taken me so long to pick it up but I'm really enjoying it :)

Hmmm. I bought this for 99 cents for my ereader (that I am still yet to use). Hope it gets better.

message 8960: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I have Fiddlers Gunn too, just haven't read it yet. It looks good.

I'm TERRIFIED of Tornado's. And that storm is supposed to hit me tonight and tomorrow and I'm going to be at the flipping Zoo when I'll want to be at home and close to my basement! I'm trying not to get wound up about it. Maybe it'll pass us by.

message 8961: by Gina (new)

Gina Rose (ginarosereads) Thanks for all the input everyone! It seems like Jellicoe Road is a favorite around here, but last night before bed I picked up If I Stay (being the shorter of the two) and headed to bed without checking the computer. I'm sure I'll blow through If I Stay and be onto Jellicoe in no time :)

Jennifer wrote: "...We just rode out some damnedbig tornadoes..."
These tornadoes are getting scary! I'll keep you in my thoughts :/

Traci wrote: "About 150 pages into Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green.. not sure what's taken me so long to pick it up but I'm really enjoying it :)"
What a great book! Green/Levithan definitely did not disappoint with that release.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Laraine wrote: "Just finished Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta! There were a lot of laugh out loud moments I loved it. :) Now I can't wait to get my hands on Piper's Son."

I loved Piper's Son! It's my second favorite Melina book, after Jellicoe Road. I hope you love it too.

message 8963: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am a huge fan of Piper's Son too (it has nothing to do with my slight (really small) crush on the the audiobook narrator)

message 8964: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I'm still trying to find deals on the audiobook. I want to listen to it. It's one of the few books I'd consider rereading.

message 8965: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I got if for $9 from Books on Board - it was really easy.

message 8966: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Heidi I just went there and I don't get anything returned when I search for audiobooks.

I have to be in the right frame of mine if I'm going to read something really upsetting, so I'm not sure if I'll make it through the book this time or not.

It meanders a lot and is not worth the hype IMO.

message 8971: by Jody (new)

Jody Kihara (jodykihara) | 169 comments Oh, interesting! I kept hearing how good it was, but had to REALLY steel myself to read a book that starts off with a young girl's rape and murder.

At the top right of this section, there is an option to sort by date. It is below and to the right of the title of the thread. It's always been there, but is easy to miss. Is that what you mean?

ETA: It also moves the comment box to the top of the page. And I'm still trying to figure out Newest.

message 8993: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I think he wants it set so it always starts on the newest comment without changing it each time. Is that right Lloyd?

This looks really good Amanda! Let me know if you like it because they don't have it at my library so I'll have to buy it to read it.

message 8997: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments Finished Just Listen by Sarah Dessen last night and started Eona The Last Dragoneye (Eon, #2) by Alison Goodman this morning...

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Even though my library has Feed I'm tempted to download it right now because it's currently $2.99 on Amazon and I really do love Seanan McGuire who is Mira Grant as well.

What's stoping me is I am currently reading The Lost Conspiracy by Frances Hardinge which is quite thick & I started it slowly because this week at work was crazy.

Then I have 2 books waiting after that. But it's only $2.99 for a limited time!! AHH
