I'm reading To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It's an English assignment but I was meaning to read it anyway because of how influential it is. I was also reading All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven but I've got it on hold at the moment because I don't like it too much, which is surprising since it's got such a great average rating (approximately 4.5 stars last time I checked!)
I am reading Rain: A Natural and Cultural History. Some of it is fascinating and some of it bores me.
Margaret wrote: "Cold Fire by Dean Koontz"I just finished a Koontz which was so good By the Light of the Moon. I kept singing By the Light of the Silvery Moon as I read it. By the Light of the Moon
Im reading Dante's The Divine Comedy (Inferno). I've wanted to read it since reading Inferno by Dan Brown.
I just finished At Home: A Short History of Private Life. It took me about six weeks to read it and I learned so much. Happy Halloween!
I just started The Shipping News which I have meant to read for years since I lived there for 2 years long ago.
I should try to get it from the library so thanks as I forgot it was a movie! Nova Scotia is so beautiful.
I am trying to finish up Brain Maker: The Power of Gut Microbes to Heal and Protect Your Brain–for Life. I disagree with some of his ideas but he says that coffee is super good for you and prevents Alzheimers so I like that very much. He says it increases the antioxidant effect of other antioxidants like vitamin C. Do you suppose its really true? Be sure to add this one to your to read list for the sake of your health.
im currently reading Mayhem by Sarah Pinborough. its set around jack the ripper era so far its really interesting
Now & Then Its very strange so I can't recommend it. I would rather read about James Bond than this stuff. James Bond is more believable! LOL!
Vampire Forensics: Uncovering the Origins of an Enduring Legend tells everything about vampires. There is much that I had forgotten about this subject.I recently finished Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town which was 5 stars and also Addicted To Twilight: Confessions Of A Twilight Mom which was so funny!
I forgot to mention that I read The Cat That God Sent in a few days as it was hard to put down. I can recommend it especially if you are fond of cats as the cat is too cute but a little too much like a dog too as it fetches. I never heard of a cat that would fetch wadded up paper balls. It is a rare breed called a Siberian so maybe there really is such a thing. Prior to this a few weeks ago I read The Good, the Bad and the Furry: Life with the World's Most Melancholy Cat and Other Whiskery Friends which my sister recommended and its very funny and also ridiculous.
I am currently reading two books. The first is a True Crime book called Precious Victims by Don W Weber & Charles Bosworth Jr. The second is the Classic Heart Of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
The Brain Fog Fix: Reclaim Your Focus, Memory, and Joy in Just 3 Weeks Just had to pick up something else as I read that statin drugs cause diabetes! Doctors are always trying to put me on them and I am always saying "No". Mom really went down hill when they put her on them. They cause the brain to shrink - like I need that!! So depressing that I picked up The Reformed Vampire Support Group which has to be more cheerful! I am also reading about parasites which is so interesting. This Is Your Brain on Parasites: How Tiny Creatures Manipulate Our Behavior and Shape Society Large numbers of the population have cat parasite in their brains! If you keep your cat inside and it never eats a mouse it won't have cat parasite to give you. Its like reading Sci Fi!
I am about to finish This Is Your Brain on Parasites: How Tiny Creatures Manipulate Our Behavior and Shape Society. Its due back soon and I can't recheck it as someone else wants it.
1. The Big Green Tent by Lyudmila Ulitskaya (still)2. The Case of the Missing Servant (Vish Puri, #1) by Tarquin Hall (This one is really good!)
I am now reading
Closed Casket by Sophie Hannah. The author has OKed to write sequals to Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot Mysteries series. She has written 2 books so far. They were not bad. There is some violence that is described.
I just finished The Little French Bistro which was excellent and started a Sci-Fi which is Sleeping Giants. Its about something like a robot that aliens left for us to find. Reminds me of the monolith in 2001.
