I read a few pages of Half-Blood due to the gorgeous cover but it is too YA even for me and I have found I really like most YA. I keep wondering if I should give it more time but ......so many books, so little time. I want to only read the really good stuff that I enjoy.

Jennifer L. Armentrout the title won't even come up!

I don't generally read Stephen King, but I really enjoyed 11.22.63

Everyone tells me its good but I don't think I would like to read the subject as it would be too depressing. I haven't read a single negative comment about this book!

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 922 comments I spend the last few days "finishing" several books that have been hanging around the house and on the currently reading list.
The Child Thief by Dan Smith was excellent
Ladder of Years by Anne Tyler was pretty good
A Perfectly Good Man by Patrick Gale was good but not great.
Next to finish is Heartless, The Survivor, and Hexed.

Stephen | 95 comments finishing off finders keepers by belinda bauer and getting ready for a trip to hay tomorrow

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) I am re-reading The Stand by Stephen King - this months audible download. I am still re-reading The Passage, need to hurry up as need to read the 2nd in the series The Twelve for review.

Also listening to Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters which was a bargain buy from Poundland, unabridged cds. I am reading Flowers for Algernon, Friends, Lovers, Chocolate by Alexander McCall Smith and trying to read Empire in Black and Gold by Adrian Tchaikovsky for my sci fi group, which is really boring and I haven't finished one chapter yet!

Stephen Livingston | 2 comments I'm currently reading "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes.
Best wishes, Stephen Livingston.

That looks really good. I've just added the first book (
Hounded) to my ever growing list of TBRs. I think I really will get around to reading this series though.

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 922 comments Jackie, There are comments in some reviews suggesting that the author doesn't portray women in a positive light, but I didn't find that at all. It seems to me there are good guys and bad guys and their gender doesn't come into it

message 572: by Chris (new)

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 922 comments Finished Hexed and I have to say it is a very satisfying, not too serious read. A great book to sit in the garden with on a sunny day. I seem to have gone on a bit of a Fantasy genre binge lately, because I also finished Some Kind of Fairy Tale, which is FAB-U-LOUS and I highly recommend. Now returning to some more half-finished books, Heartless and The Survivor before starting on my next batch of bookgroup monthly reads

I'm contemplating the Ice and Fire series. Epic fantasy isn't usually my thing, but I've heard such good things about the books that I'm wondering if this series might be worth trying.

I'm currently reading These foolish things AKA The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Not really enjoying it though, but it could pick up.
