Still reading and enjoying Zoo Station. Also reading The Stepford Wives, UNSTOPPABLE!: Surviving is Just the Beginning ... and have read a chapter of Dark Echo.

I read a few pages of Half-Blood due to the gorgeous cover but it is too YA even for me and I have found I really like most YA. I keep wondering if I should give it more time but ......so many books, so little time. I want to only read the really good stuff that I enjoy.
Jennifer L. Armentrout the title won't even come up!

Just started Dearly Devoted Dexter - been working my way through the series again, this time in the right order!! :)
I'm reading Reviving Ophelia by Mary Pipher, Ph.D. and True Colors by Kristin Hannah. I just finished my first book by Kristin Hannah, Night Road, on Sunday and went to the library to check out a second book by her for a fun easy read :)

Everyone tells me its good but I don't think I would like to read the subject as it would be too depressing. I haven't read a single negative comment about this book!

I spend the last few days "finishing" several books that have been hanging around the house and on the currently reading list. The Child Thief by Dan Smith was excellent
Ladder of Years by Anne Tyler was pretty good
A Perfectly Good Man by Patrick Gale was good but not great.
Next to finish is Heartless, The Survivor, and Hexed.
I am re-reading The Stand by Stephen King - this months audible download. I am still re-reading The Passage, need to hurry up as need to read the 2nd in the series The Twelve for review. Also listening to Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters which was a bargain buy from Poundland, unabridged cds. I am reading Flowers for Algernon, Friends, Lovers, Chocolate by Alexander McCall Smith and trying to read Empire in Black and Gold by Adrian Tchaikovsky for my sci fi group, which is really boring and I haven't finished one chapter yet!

We read this in June for our bookclub but sadly I lost the plot and the will to live about 6% in according to my kindle!
Reading Hexed,
, by Kevin Hearne and really enjoying it. Very humourous and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Hounded) to my ever growing list of TBRs. I think I really will get around to reading this series though.
Jackie, There are comments in some reviews suggesting that the author doesn't portray women in a positive light, but I didn't find that at all. It seems to me there are good guys and bad guys and their gender doesn't come into it
Finished Hexed and I have to say it is a very satisfying, not too serious read. A great book to sit in the garden with on a sunny day. I seem to have gone on a bit of a Fantasy genre binge lately, because I also finished Some Kind of Fairy Tale, which is FAB-U-LOUS and I highly recommend. Now returning to some more half-finished books, Heartless and The Survivor before starting on my next batch of bookgroup monthly reads

I've just started The Queen of Subtleties: A Novel of Anne Boleyn. I've only read the first few pages, but it hooked me straight away. If it carries on like this it'sgoing to be great.

Hope you enjoy it Lynne. Haven't read much yet, but liking it a lot!
I've just finished Absolute Monarchs: A History of the Papacy and I'm about to start In the Shadow of the Sword: The Birth of Islam and the Rise of the Global Arab Empire, although as it is Saturday night I might opt for something a bit less brain taxing.
Bridgette wrote: "im currently reading bloodborn by nathan long and the novice by trudi canavan."I loved The Black Magician Trilogy, it was fab.
@Anglea - not started it yet! Just been finishing The Twelve which was awsome! It was a proof copy from my Waterstones bookgroup so has to go back on Friday.

@Angela - I loved it but then this type of epic fantasy/dystopian reads are my favourite type of books.
Lynne - The Book Squirrel wrote: "@Angela - I loved it but then this type of epic fantasy/dystopian reads are my favourite type of books."There are quite a few "big" books that I want to read;shall have to attept them soon!
I'm currently reading The Woman Who Died a Lot. These books get crazier and crazier and I love them more and more. Maybe I should be worried about what that says about me, but I'm not!

I'm contemplating the Ice and Fire series. Epic fantasy isn't usually my thing, but I've heard such good things about the books that I'm wondering if this series might be worth trying.
I'm currently reading These foolish things AKA The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Not really enjoying it though, but it could pick up.
