you have picked a series of very good books from my list, you've picked almost all the books i've planned to read in the first quarter of this year :) either with a challenge or a group read, the only ones left are storm front, undead and unwed, & infinite jest so i think i will go with undead and unwed although i've been checking out the jim butcher book for quite sometime still couldn't settle for that one yet, will read it soon & i have plenty that i have to finish this month infinite jest would be just dreaming :) but i will read these 2 as well sometime this year and ley you know about them.
yeah we used the same terms and actually our taste is so very different as well, i also love cats ;) happy new year!

You have sooooo many books and are so well organized. I just joined in December and my lists are still somewhat a mess. I hope I did this right and picked some good options for you.

Carolyn - I looked about and I don't see any posts by Julianna with your picks (unless she deleted them.) So unless you confirm you got picks by some other method, I'll assume you still need them.

Congratulations! And I know you'll love Darkfever. But you'll want to have the rest of the books lined up.

I hope you'll find something you'll like! Let me know if you want me to pick again.

Thanks for the recommendations, Gigi. Glad to finally have them.
You've picked some good ones for me. I am not quite sure what to read. [book:The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society|8146730] looks particularly good to me, but I am not ruling out any other recommendations.

1. New Author: Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake - Not my genre but I've heard this title come up several times. Since you have it in your TBR, apparently you've heard about this author as well. You could do worse than to give her a shot.
2. New Series: Talk Me Down The Tumble Creek series is a lot of fun. I really liked the second one better, but they are all good.
3. New Genre: Philosophy - Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar . . .: Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes - Great and funny book.
B. Better You - From their TBR
1. Lose Weight: The Fiery Cross - You've read up to this point in the Outlander series. The lowest rating you've given is four stars. Why stop now?
2. Save Money: Pride and Prejudice - How is it that you have not read this? I just think you might have missed ranking this. But if not, you need to read this now.
3. Get Organized: Seduction in Death - Keep reading the In-Death books. I've read the first 31 and keep enjoying each and every one.
C. Enjoy Life More
1 & 2. Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - I know that you didn't really like the last Christopher Moore book, but you liked Dirty Job. This book always makes me laugh.
Nation - One of my favorite books of last year. YA, adventure.
Hope I've given you a wide enough range from which to use.

Thanks Inga!! I think I'll read Ceremony in Death since it has been sitting at the top of my TBR pile for a while! I'm also going to add Queen of Shadows to my list at the library and hope it comes in early this month as well.

A. Try Something New
1. New Author ~ Kresley Cole, A Hunger Like No Other. I love this author and this series. It just gets funnier and funnier.
2. New Series ~ The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins It's dark but good.
3. New Genre ~ Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas, Like me, you seem to read any and all genres, but I didn't see too much historical. Kleypas is one of my favs in this genre.
B. Better You
1. Lose Weight ~ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, you've read the whole series but the last one...time to finish it up.
2. Save Money ~ Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost, I love this series enough to have read it more than once.
3. Get Organized ~ Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris You've had this on your list for over a year. Since you liked the first it's time to move on to the second. I loved the whole series.
C. Enjoy Life More
1. ~ Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning Great author and great series. The last one comes out soon so this is a very good time to start the first one.
2. ~ Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurenston This author (aka G.A. Aiken) always make me double over with laughter. I recently read this one and she didn't disappoint.
Happy Reading :)

She sent them to me as a message.

D.G. & Photojim, I do have my picks! Ladykati picked for me in post #170, and I responded in post #204, but if Jim's already picked something for me, I'll be happy to choose something to read from that pick as well.
Sorry I didn't see this right away - I stopped checking the thread every day once I had my picks.

Thanks for the picks, Jim - I see you survived going through all my historical romance books!
I'm going with Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake and the next In-Death book in my queue, which I think is Judgment in Death

Here are my picks for you, Becky.

I just finished Vampire Academy and I am IN LOVE! I have been looking at this book/series for awhile and am glad I got the push to read it. I can't wait to continue the series! THANKS for the Rec Megan.

I read it MANY years ago when all my books came from the library, but picked up a copy a while ago and plan on reading it again this year, so decided not to guess on a year read.

I hope you'll find something you'll like! Let me know if you want me to pick again.

Youre welcome Tatiana! I'm glad you liked the recs.

ahahah ty. IM SOO SORRY u had to go through hardships cuz of me. I just have so many books i want to read. =))
I'll start reading the Darkfever.

Sandra Dee, you set your profile to private and I can't check your shelves again so I'll just recommend one of everything.(sorry if I add books you've already read) ;)
I've already recommended Moon Called which is a very good paranormal book. I'd add the following to the list:
Vampire Books:
Dark Lover - J.R. Ward
Once Bitten, Twice Shy - Jennifer Rardin
Guilty Pleasures - Laurell K. Hamilton
A Rush of Wings - Adrian Phoenix
Dead Until Dark - Charlaine Harris
These two are on the funny side:
Real Vampires Have Curves - Gerry Bartlett
Dead End Dating - Kimberly Raye
This one is a historical vampire book and one of my favorite series:
The Rest Falls Away - Colleen Gleason
Other paranormal books:
Kitty and the Midnight Hour - Carrie Vaughn
Stray - Rachel Vincent
Working for the Devil - Lilith Saintcrow
The Devil Inside - Jenna Black
Darkfever - Karen Marie Moning
You Slay Me - Katie MacAlister -- this one's lighter, too.
A couple of fantasy books:
Outlander - Diana Gabaldon-- a lengthy but solid book
Tigana - Guy Gavriel Kay-- a very complex book with a very well defined world. In fact, any books I've read from Mr. Gavriel Kay are immensely enjoyable, especially if you like fantasy.
If you don't want to read something paranormal or of the fantasy genre, here are some 'normal' books you might enjoy, historical or contemporary:
The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand
Second Thyme Around - Katie Fforde
Just One Of The Guys - Kristan Higgins
One for the Money - Janet Evanovich
This Is How It Happened - Jo Barrett
Just the Sexiest Man Alive - Julie James
Secrets of a Summer Night - Lisa Kleypas
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen -- you've probably read this one but I just had to add it in case you hadn't, it's a MUST!
Sorry for the huge message... They're all adult reads so you can take a break from all the YA! I hope something catches your eye!
Happy 2011 and happy reading! ^^

Thanks for letting us know, Carolyn. As rule #1 say to post recommendations here, it never occurred to me she would have sent them to you and not post anything here.

Actually I had fun :). You have a lot a great books on that list and you split it up nicely which made it a whole lot easier. Thanks for the adventure!

No worries, BJ Rose! It's my fault!
I hope I didn't miss anybody else by mistake. I don't have time to go back and double check everything so if ANYBODY is still missing picks, please post here ASAP and I'll do the picks for you.

My Soul to Take surely got my attention. But if I can't get my hands on it this month, I'll have to read Bitten.

Perfect - Thanks for the long list - I love to work from a list - nothing is missed with a list. I apologize about my profile setting private - my sons set the parental controls - they monitor my internet friends - long story - maybe a book someday - but I have to follow the guidlines or they will take my computer and put me into an adult daycare facility. Again, Thank YOU for the reading list.
