Self-Challenge: "Better Late, Than Never"
LOL! Shall we make picket signs? Nah, it'd pain us too much to refuse to read until we got our way. :)
Just send them a barrage of e-mail...or start a new GR group, get some authors on board...when you're taking a reading break, or course!
Then all the emails would slow them down more, taking time to read them (yeah, right, haha) instead of publishing our beloved books. ;)

Since I was crazy, want-to-whip-the-book-across-the-room at the end of that one, it might be a good idea to get back in that frame of mind, while having Shadowfever sitting next to me, waiting to be read. :) "LOL, I think we all felt that way! I was SO beyond mad it ended like that, I had read the first 4 in like 3 days because I couldn't stop at those darn cliffhangers! Shoulda just waited until now...
I feel the same way - wishing I'd waited until I had them all in hand - about that series. But, once you start it's kinda hard not to continue on b/c of the frickin' cliffhangers.Welcome to the challenge, Sallie! Great series choices! I need to take another look at my list and see which others I might want to add on to mine. :)
I could have added more to my list but I felt I had to stop somewhere before my list got so out of hand I wouldnt be able to control the anxiety of trying to read them all....LOL
LOL...I so get that, Sallie! My list has grown this year already....between sign up and today...and still finishing up The Almost Clean Slate....yikes! (I've split my "old" series and "new series" between these two...)I need a tad bit (or more!)of your control!
I'm guessing that since this thread is called Better Late Than Never I can Join in now??Duration-(Feb.1st-Dec.31st) 4/22

Totally in. I've got quite a few series I've been wanting to work on and get in as part of my 2011 challenge. FeverKaren Marie Moning
Read! I loved the story arc here! The cliffhangers almost killed me and I was uber happy I read the series once they were all out. I love a good series as much as the next gal, but I have to give credit for a well planned and executed storyline that doesn't just keep dragging on unnecessarily.

Welcome to the Challenge, Louise! I'll be interested to hear how you like Duncan's series. I had Vellum, bought it years ago, but never read it. Then, it got destroyed (don't ask) in one of our military moves. Never got around to repurchasing.

I'm having trouble remembering the last series that I want to put on here. I emailed a friend that got me interested in it. Maybe she'll think of it. :)
What a great challenge to clean off the TBR book shelves... I have an addiction to the 1/2 Price bookstore so I keep buying and buying until I get a completed series to start. 2011 goal is to read what I've collected before buying more. The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

The official UK release date is November for the paperback but you can get it on bookdepository from June :)
Michelle wrote: "The official UK release date is November for the paperback but you can get it on bookdepository from June :)..."I noticed there's no price listed and it not available..Is it because I'm in the US and it's the UK edition?? I'm not familiar with BD...
The June UK edition is a trade (large) paperback and the UK November one has a mass market (small) paperback price. With both editions being released so close together the trade probably had a small print run and was discontinued. The hardback US edition is available May 31st.

Ames is right Christina, BD doesn't discriminate due to location. If any book is not available, that means they are sold out or having difficulty with the publisher.
In this case I suspect Ames is correct and the trade pb was a short print run.
Thanks ladies. I looked on Amazon UK and the June edition was still available. I would assume BD sold out its order. The pounds-to-dollars conversion would make it impractical to buy from Amazon UK -- it would be close to the price of the HB.I think I can wait for the US paperback. If I can't, well, I can always shop for the best price on the hardback. ;-)
One of my favourite series, too. Actually, I'm doing a paper for university and the text I chose was from

Discourse analysis. We study cohesion, coherence, topic, theme, structures, genre and register, focus, new and give information...Nalini Singh has a very particular writing style and she's fun to analyse.
Steph wrote: "Welcome, Christina! Hope you enjoy Psy-Changelings! My favorite PNR."I think I'm going to enjoy the series. I wasn't so sure after the first book, but the second convinced me.
It definitely picks up steam after #1. The world she's created with that series blows my mind. It's got so many moving pieces and yet, with each new book, we are updated on not just the political battles, but snippets from our favorite couples to date. So much fun! Enjoy! I'm not typically a rereader, but I look forward to the day when I can reread this whole series one right after the other. :D
I can't wait for Kiss of Snow!!

Surely they've already got the artwork done, a printer lined up, marketing organised, so all they'd have to do would be final editing and it would already have been edited a couple of times if its a big author.
So what's the hold up???? Are you listening publishers cause we really want to know?
