Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 557 comments So behind on this one - I haven't even finished my first book!!!

message 302: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL! I'm not sure I understand, like Sandra mentioned, if it's the right book on the hover, why not otherwise? I'm lost, sorry. Can you post the example for me?

Hang in there, Charlotte. Still plenty of time left. :)

message 303: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments Here it is:

25. Redemption August 2nd

The actual name of the book is Retribution.

message 304: by Nairabell (new)

Nairabell | 634 comments You can edit the title in the add book brackets - I'm always doing that to the first Percy Jackson as it only ever comes up with 'The Lightning Thief' and doesn't show the 'Percy Jackson and' bit. :)

message 305: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments That's just bizarre, Zaanodes. Any idea why that's happening, Miss Librarian Sandra? Odd. Wonder if the name was changed at some point?

Just do this Redemption Retribution or something, I guess. :)

message 306: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I've no idea! But I'd do what Nairabell said and just edit it within the brackets.

message 307: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments So weird. Oh well. Sounds good to me (the brackets).

message 308: by Zaanodes (last edited Apr 22, 2011 08:11AM) (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments How the original difference occurred? I don't know. My mistake or the name changed.

Why it is still happening? I have all my book stuff on a flash drive. Challenges are in word documents. I do them at home, revising the same document. At work, I copy-and-paste the word document into the post box. I never verified that book since I posted the original list back when. Now that I am close to the end, I happened to notice the name difference. But all this time I have been using the same word document to copy-and-paste, so the error remained.

I wanted to make sure is within the rules to correct it. (To correct it, I will edit the word document and re-post.)

Sandra | 25908 comments Welcome to one of the hardest challenges Suzanne. Only hard cause you can't change books :)

You've picked some classics, hope you enjoy them.

message 313: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 1024 comments Thanks all! These books have been on my TBR since I first created my Goodreads account so it's about time I read them!

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I am going to join - but I haven't added the majority of my books yet......so I'm gonna wait a week or so. I'm off for a week starting Saturday and hope to be able to get a lot of stuff posted then.

See ya'll soon!

message 318: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments Spirit Bound was scheduled for release 7/7/11. I found out today (6/22/11) that the revised release date is 12/27/11. I could read it in time ASSUMING that it is when it is released. That is taking a chance that the date won't be changed again.

So, Steph, wait and see? I could always pick a book then.

message 324: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments See, this is the problem with posting upcoming releases vs. already on-hand TBR for no change challenge. TskTsk ;) Nah, that's cool.

Late again....that is one where the name shows up differently in various places! A couple of my book sites have one, and then others have the other. So, it may be a name change by the author, or different titles in different countries? I dunno exactly, but it's probably related to an author change. I've had that happen a couple of times...

Sherri | 781 comments I'm going to sign up for this one. I really need to get the TBR pile under a bit of control. I find all I am rading are new review books and NEVER getting to the TBR pile. So this should help. I've selected by two oldest books and will figure out the rest over the weekend!

You got me there...I give. I surrender. I fold.

For challenges that books cannot be changed, I will not choose to-be-released. Just too chancy...well, maybe if it is a VERY soon to-be-released????

message 336: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments That was such a hard choice to make! I also put that very same book on one version of the list...but swapped it out before the final version! Finally went with the "in-my-hands" or "very-soon-to-be-released!

message 337: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments Judithe wrote: "Finally went with the "in-my-hands" or "very-soon-to-..."

If I wait until Dec. 27th, I will still have time to read Spirit Bound or pick another book and get it read before the 31st. BUT I don't know if I will be able to let this challenge 'hang' that long. That will be the kicker. Patience is not my strongest point. Now, if Steph had said I HAD to wait...I could do that 'cause the decision would be out of my hands. The 'rules', you know! Steph left it up to me and I don't know if I will be able to wait to finish the challenge.

Wan (wanwaddell) | 612 comments Guys -- I have a question. When I first signed up, I didn't realized that Fear the Darkness wasn't the actual book in the series but the novella. - Can I chage it to replace with the next book on this same series? Which is Devil May Cry.
Thank you.

message 342: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Sep 26, 2011 05:16PM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL! Miss Wan, you've had so many changes when swore there'd be none. But, you always have a good reason, so ... yes. You may. Especially seeing as Fear the Darkness is only 20 pages long. >;)

message 343: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) | 1934 comments I'm starting to regret a couple of those choices...what possessed me to add a gazillion-paged Russian classic to the list??

message 344: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Sep 26, 2011 11:12PM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL! I'm the same. Seems some of the books I picked had been gathering dust on my TBR shelf for a reason.

ETA: Well, not the same in that I also have a gazillion-paged Russian classic on my list. Yikes!

message 345: by Vivian (new)

Vivian (_vivian) | 1934 comments LOL. Maybe I should start a new shelf, the don't-really-want-to-read-but-like-the-idea-of-reading shelf. Everything I don't read for this challenge can go into that shelf ;)

Oooohhhhh, I need one of those shelves!!

message 348: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL Vivian! Sounds like a smashing idea! :D

You're welcome, Wan :)

message 349: by Thenia (new)

Thenia | 977 comments Unfortunately, I won't be able to finish this challenge. I simply don't want to read some of the books on my list anymore and I haven't even updated it for a while. Plus, my schedule now is getting beyond hectic so I'll only be able to listen to audiobooks and read a little before I fall asleep so I'd rather read something fun instead of struggle with some of my picks for this challenge. I've also gotten a little tired of challenges so I'm taking some time off!

It was a great idea Steph! Thank you for coming up with it. ^^

message 350: by Wan (new)

Wan (wanwaddell) | 612 comments Thenia - I feel the same way at times. But I only have a couple more books to go!! I will try to finish it.
