Am I the only one having trouble keeping track of the lists (#5 is actually #60?), when they were posted, and the period that they run?
Ann (Noumena12) wrote: "Am I the only one having trouble keeping track of the lists (#5 is actually #60?), when they were posted, and the period that they run?"Each list runs for 4 weeks. A new list is created every week, usually posted on a Monday, and starts on a Tuesday. It's the one that is marked NEW!. Right now, the latest list is List #62.
Hope that helps. : )
Ann (Noumena12) wrote: "Thanks! I was using the list in the first post...and confusing myself. :)"You are on the right track. The current list is usually the first post in the thread.
This sounds like fun. Working two part time jobs and going to school is a lot of work, so having a little just-for-fun reading challenge will be good. I'm in

Love your kitty profile pic. : )
Is it too late to get in on this? If not, do you have to commit to each list or just the ones you find a book of interest on?
No doubt Yz will answer this Tina, but I just follow two of the threads and try to participate in these - however occassionally I run out of time so I end up skipped that round. But I keep following that thread and rejoin in the next round :) There are generally about a half dozen of us in each of the two rounds I'm following...
Good to know. Thanks, Jane. Is this the challenge that never ends..(lol) or is it yearly? Now I'm humming "this is the song that never ends..it just goes on and on....". That's what I need at eleven on a Saturday night...lol.

Gosh - have we been doing this since late 2010!!? Time flies!A big thanks to Yz for constantly managing this thread :)
i wanna participate:) but i don't understand something: i choose a list let's say no 85 and the book read by most people is going to help in generating another list. My question is what no will that list become?
Ana wrote: "i wanna participate:) but i don't understand something: i choose a list let's say no 85 and the book read by most people is going to help in generating another list. My question is what no will tha..."Probably...#90. :) I deduced that by looking back at one of the first books I read for this and looked to see if I picked something from the new list that was generated:
#74. Fantasy Lover
#79. Iron Kissed (for Moon Called)
Each list is good for four weeks, so when it "expires", it becomes 5 more than whatever # it was originally. Therefore, #86 will be #91.
I hope that's clear enough. :)
Tina wrote: "Is it too late to get in on this? If not, do you have to commit to each list or just the ones you find a book of interest on?"It's really up to you. You can just pick and choose which lists you like, or you can participate in all lists.

I am confused .... btu then that's typical for me! lol do I go to list 1 myself...and start my own continuous reading challenge?
Hi Catherine, the Random List Challenge is hosted by Yz. She posts a list each week. The lists are valid for one month. You can join anytime with any list of your choice. Each list will have around 10 from which you can choose one. After reading, you have to report back on the date finished and your feedback. I hope this helps.
Time for me to make a new list. : )Random Book List Challenge Reads

102. Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi (read by Nov 6)
103. The Rook by Daniel O'Malley (read by Nov 13)
104. Anew for Awry by Chelsea Fine (Read by Nov 20)
I'm looking for new and creative ways to pick my next read and this looks perfect for the job. One question though, I've noticed that you can exchange one book for another if you want to read an earlier or later book in the series. Can you also exchange it for another book by that author even if it is a different series or a stand-alone?
Hi Lauren! You can't substitute another book by the author if it's a different series or stand-alone. Only another book in the series listed. And if you do read a different book in the series, it only counts in the event of a tie-breaker or if no other book from the list has been read :)
It is a really fun challenge, I've found so many great reads and new authors since it's started - I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Fran. I'm looking forward to participating and maybe reducing the TBR although it will probably have the opposite effect, lol!
Hi Arshiya! You post what you've read in the list thread containing your title. You can use this thread to keep track of the titles you have read for this challenge if you want to. This thread is just to keep track of the books for yourself, not to count towards the challenge or if you have any questions about the challenge.
Arshiya wrote: "Okay. Got it. Thanks :)"You're welcome - have fun with the challenge! I have found so many new, great titles from this challenge :)
Yes you can - so if bk 5 is on the list - you could read bk 1 - just say in your post reading bk 1 in place of bk 5 (or something like that)
