LL- What did you think of Sweet Temptation? I love this whole series, but I haven't read that one yet. Heard it's not as good as the others, too hard-core mean. I love Micah so I'm afraid to read it and feel differently! I do have it sitting at home in my tbr though.

Starting/currently reading:Sweet Temptation (Sweet, #4) by Maya Banks is too hard-core as well. But then again, I've heard that Sweet Seduction is too "tame", & I've yet to that one yet. I guess it has to do with personal preference. IMO, ST isn't all that good. Micah turned into a complete asshole in this installment & the heroine was a doormat. Not to mention all of gratuitous sex. I know, I know. Who am I to complain about unnecessary sex in an erotic romance? But I enjoy intimate scenes that further the plot line & one scene in particular only cast the h/h in an unflattering light. Overall, I would've skipped this book if I'd known what was in store for me.

That's exactly what I've heard! I really liked Micah all throughout the series so I think I will just not read this one and keep my good thoughts of him. I wonder why Maya Banks did that- there has been a lot of backlash about ST. Thanks for your input!

Good to know! I've been putting off the Pamela Palmer books because I was unsure about them, but they sound right up my alley. I will move them up in the TBR!

message 88: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 1339 comments Finished Evan (Long, tall Texans, #8; Silhouette Romance #819) by Diana Palmer (3.5*) and Windflower by Laura London , which I adored!!!! I was reluctant to read it, because I was expecting a bodice ripper along the lines of "Pirate abducts pathetic innocent and rapes her, beats her, abuses her,etc.."
This book was completely different from what I thought, and is amaaazing! The h/H are apart for quite a bit of the book , but Laura London does an amazing job of building the setting and secondary characters (I now have a major crush on Cat, and wish he'd get his own book, lol)! Definitely worth reading! And it's funny, which was another shock seeing as it was written in 1984!!:-)

message 89: by Megan (new)

Megan finished Handyman by Claire Thompson , currently reading Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders, #1) by Lorelei James

message 90: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Finished Sisters, Ink (Sisters, Ink #1) by Rebeca Seitz . Nice solid read, but nothing to push it over the top. Even though I had a busy weekend, the fact that it took me 5 days to read probably says alot.

On the other hand Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh gets 5 gold stars. I started it yesterday on my lunch break; when I got home from work I stayed up until I finished. The only bad thing is now I have to wait until May 31 for Hawke's story in Kiss of Snow.

Currently reading Coming Unglued (Sisters, Ink #2) by Rebeca Seitz mainly because I want to know the rest of the sisters' stories. However, if it's not an improvement over Sisters, Ink, I'll probably stop with this one.
