I hope you enjoy reading A Time for Peace. It's a return to Jenny and Matthew...and an unexpected challenge to their relationship!

I'm sure I will -- I've so enjoyed the first two!

Thanks, Camille! I'm looking forward to hearing what you and the other Goodreads readers think...am working on a new Amish series now...
Barbara, I will be reading it next while I am on vacation in Maine in two weeks. It will be nice to get back to our old friends again.
Anna's Gift by Emma Miller is on NetGalley! It's the third in the series. I may have to buy #2 as I loved #1 but don't want to spoil the book by reading the 3rd one next.
Has anyone been approved by NetGalley to read The Survivor by Shelley Shepard Gray? I've requested it twice and still have not heard anything.
I think that with the last couple of books they had of her's on there it took forever to get approved.
Barbara Ann wrote: "Has anyone been approved by NetGalley to read The Survivor by Shelley Shepard Gray? I've requested it twice and still have not heard anything."I'm still waiting for approval too!

Also the second book is called Miriam's Heart and it is a Love Inspired book so it is reasonably priced!

Avon Inspire usually take a few weeks to respond, I think they get a lot of requests as they're part of HarperCollins and that's a rather large publishing company.
I'm thinking about buying Miriam's Heart, although one of my friends said she's sure it's out of print in paperback? I'm sure I saw it on Amazon a few days ago. Maybe she got mixed up with something else...
I was turned down by NetGalley to read The Survivor? Can I request a second time?
Do they ever tell you why you were declined?

I did too! I am going to re-request it! Thomas Nelson has done that before to me and I've gotten approved on the second try.
Rachel wrote: "I was turned down too, really odd as we all review for them on a regular basis!"
Especially since they gave me the first 2. Anyone else?

I was turned down as well, and like Barbara Ann I reviewed the first two for them. I am requesting it again.
I got turned down, again, for The Survivor. Here's the email I got...

I have tons of stuff, like which websites I post my reviews on (my blog, TCM, Amazon, CBD, GoodReads), the fact that I promote these reviews (Facebook, Twitter, Google+), which book groups I'm part of, and my reviewer rank on different websites. And I still got turned down! Don't take it personally Barbara Ann, they rejected all of us and we're all avid reviewers. I don't know what their reasoning is :/If anyone does get accepted, let us know what your secret is!
I was just coming here to gripe about that as well! I hate that they freely released the first two and then get all iron fist about the last one. I even had some comments from the author about my review from the first one. O well I just preordered it after being turned down a 2nd time. They have the right to turn us down it just stinks when you read and review such a great series and then get turned down for the final book. O well only a few more weeks till its released!
I emailed Shelley about our being turned down after having gotten the first two books and having numerous reviews many places.
This was her reply... Dear Barbara, thank you for letting me know! I'll forward this on to the folks at Harper Collins. I so appreciate you taking the time to review my books. Shelley
I didn't know if it would do any good, but at least she's aware of our intentions.

Yeah this is how I feel too. Just want to know if in the future to not bother requesting if they have changed there requirements.
I got declined again too! Boohoo! I wonder if they are keeping track of how many books that publisher has sent us and have not received reviews. That's the only thing I can think of.
Thanks for looking into it, you guys. Do let us know how you get on. I know that some of you have been reviewing for several years so it's especially unfair that they are rejecting you. But hey...they're missing out on all of our wonderful reviews! :)
I haven't signed up for netgallery because I don't think my reviews are good enough. How long do the reviews have to be?
I think when it comes to Netgalley its not about the length of your reviews but how many people read them etc. It seems the publishers want more outlets which can be hard for smaller bloggers. You could easily review for Baubor Books I am sure and do some blog hops to get a few followers. My average review length is around 500 words sometimes closer to 600 but that is my whole review including a good reads summery as well as my own.
I was declined by Harlequin for Anna's Gift by Emma Miller. Here's my letter...

-a direct link to your Good Reads, Amazon, and/or LibraryThing profile page (must have over 100 reviews on any one of these services).

-If you are a bookseller, the name and address of the bookstore you work at. If you need further clarification, please visit our full publisher preferences: http://www.netgalley.com/about/publis...
I don't have a big following, so I guess Harlequin is out for me. :-( I guess I'll have to buy this one.

Barbara I do not have 100 followers not even close. One thing you can do is some blog hops which for books tends to be on Fridays. Also get your review numbers up that will help. It does seem like they are becoming much more picky. I get approved for Harlequin.
Aww, Barbara, that's a pity :( I didn't realise Harlequin had that criteria, it must be a new thing as they didn't used to be like that :/ Thankfully LI books aren't too expensive, hopefully you'll still get to read it.

Question for everyone... The last few I've read from NetGalley had no capitalization at the beginning of sentences and some names weren't capitalized either. Is this normal or is it just my kindle?
I have no idea because I have WAY less information in my description than Rachel does... I honestly think it depends on who is doing approvals that day and what mood they are in. And yes, I was approved for the first two...
I'm giving it another request. Why not. What could happen? We've already had an earthquake this week and are now waiting for the hurricane to hit!
Barbara Ann wrote: "I'm giving it another request. Why not. What could happen? At work, people are saying if locuses starting coming that they are out of here!
Anyways, I requested The Survivor for a third time too! Maybe they'll just approve it so I will stop asking! LOL!

I think Thomas Nelson often have this problem?
Woo, go Camille! I reckon it must be to do with who handles the book approvals, like you say. Maybe we should keep bugging them until they accept :P
Something New by Dianne L. Christner is available over on Net Galley. It is the follow up to Something Old.
