October 2010 Reading Challenge
MARTINA'S OCTOBER LITERARY COLORS CHALLENGE UPDATE - 6/10In the wee hours of this morning, I finished Atlantis Unleashed (Warriors of Poseidon, #3) by Alyssa Day (★★★★). The series is true PNR featuring a new couple in each book. In the series you discover that the lost city of Atlantis exists, but has been hiding itself from humanity. And a subset of Atlantean warriors have been tasked with saving humanity from vampires (who have recently "come out" in society).
This particular book features the warrior, Justice, who is the bastard brother of the Atlantean prince (also a warrior). Justice is captured by the vampire goddess, resulting in his complete mental breakdown. His ultimate survival depends upon Dr. Keely McDermott, an archaeologist with a talent for touching items and seeing their past.
I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than I remember enjoying the previous ones. It has some great witty moments, and even though Justice & Keely are a fated love (a device I don't normally enjoy in my books), I found the emotional pieces really helped make this book a winner. Guess this means I'm reading the next one sometime soon! :-)
