Hilarious, I wanted to do the same thing to Marcie and Monica!!!!

Andrea | 2 comments Hush, Hush - A solid 3 on my scale

I liked it...will probably read more in the series or by the author. My problem was that I had a difficult time with the main character. I really didn't like her. She spent too much time lying. I'm a fan of a hero who has integrity. I kept worrying about how her lies could hurt the people in her life.

(SPOILER) Granted, most of the people she lied to turned out to be creaps...Elliot, Jules, Mrs. Greene....Maybe if I believed that she was lying to save herself but I never felt she had reason to BELIEVE she was in that kind of danger up until the last few chapters of the book.(END SPOILER)

Additionally, it disturbed me that everyone in the book adopted a nasty attitude towards each other. That's one town with a nasty attitutde. Even Nora and Vee didn't seem to really be best friends/opposite twins.

Then again, all of this didn't disturbe me enough to scare me away from book 2 :)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 1272 comments I finally finished reading Cresecendo. I didnt rate it as high as Hush,Hush I felt that Nora was very stupid and she could have avoided alot of things by just stopping and listening she annoyed the crap outta me. I also felt the ending was just thrown in there outta no where there was no build up to that point I think the author just wanted to leave with a cliff hanger that would make us all want to read the next book but didnt really know how to do it so she just said hey let me throw this in there.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Starting to think I will not be reading Cresecendo and I need to get rid of my copy of Hush, Hush ASAP.

y is that? what happened that I missed?

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Seems Cresecendo is worst then book 1. I only gave book 1 2 stars. Really don't want to waste my time reading something I'm not going to like.

I know what you mean, I didn't care all that much for the first one and wasn't going to read the second. But then we did it as BOM, so the peer pressure is there again. Good thing my library has it, but if it isn't good, I will give it up.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I'll be interested to see what you think of it.

message 110: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I think I am #5 on the list, so hopefully soon.

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) I'm still waiting on Crescendo from the library.

Tya | 846 comments I'll just Spoiler tag all of this....so...

***Spoilers***

I was so stinking nervous to read Crescendo! The fallen angel plot is so similar to Fallen and I fraking *hated* Torment. So. Disappointed. But, I really did enjoy Crescendo. Of course, I read it on Saturday and all ready its blending into a bunch of other things that I read over the weekend and I'm having trouble remembering *exactly* what happened in the books, but I remember calling it from early on that Rixon was shady. Yes. Shady. And I knew, *I knew* from the second that Patch started hanging out with Marcie that he was her guardian angel. Oh Nora. You're not very bright, are you?

Tya, if she were smart there would have been no drama. =) That's my problem, a lot of times stupid stuff happens just so drama can be created. I think that's one of the reasons I like Kate Daniels, she doesn't turn stupid because boys are involved.

message 116: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Here are my thoughts on Crescendo.

I had reservations with this book before I even picked it up. I thought the first one was so so, even planned on skipping this one,but one of my groups picked it as the BOM, so I felt peer pressured into reading it.

I took the book to work to read during lunch, thought this would make me give it longer that way, as it was my only entertainment for an hour. After 15 minutes the whole teen angst drove me nuts, but I kept reading. By the time I read for 40 minutes I was bored. Ultimately I ended my lunch 10 minutes early as the book was just driving my nuts. I made it 120 pages in, about a quarter of the book, so I feel pretty confidant that it wouldn't have gotten better for me.

This book and this series just isn't for me.

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments That's too bad Darcey. At least you didn't waste any more time on it.

message 118: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments That is for sure Carrie. I also know not to bother with any more books.

message 119: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) I should be picking Crescendo up from the libray Sat.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Thanks for posting Darcy, best to just skip this one so I don't waste more time and money.

message 121: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I would say get it at the library Shera, but I know your library, lol, it won't have it.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Now you're speaking my library lingo!!! ^_-

message 123: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments It has taken me a while to get how bad yours is, which is too bad for you.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Yeah, but it gives me all kinds of excuses to buy my books. I'm spoiled now, no late fees and no one else has sneezed all over my book. ^_-

message 125: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments That is true, but also much pooer! That is my only problem with buying books. I really can't afford my reading habit.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Totally agree. When I had my really nice job, I would drop anywhere from 300-400 bucks on books. Soooo, sad.

My Borders store loves me. They like to joke that I'm the "Goldens, Golden Member."

message 127: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments If money were not option I would be buying all my books, then I could read them when I wanted. But, sadly I live in the real world. :(

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Yep. The real world sucks like that sometimes. ^_-

Another draw back to buying a book. Is if you don't like it, it feels more like a huge betrayel because you trusted it and paid for it. Sometimes I can almost see the book giving me the bird . . .

message 129: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments So true, so true!!

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments My friends keep joking I need to find a rich Sugar Daddy so I can shower me with books.

Have you used the before?

I have heard about it, but haven't gotten anything from there.

message 136: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I am really thinking about getting a color nook. Can't justify it right now, but my b-day is in Feb, so I may get that for myself.

message 137: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments You should have a reader Darcy. I see you with one for some reason even though I know you don't have one. I always think Shera has one too.

Stacia, I have never heard of that site. OMG, I have to check it out, like yesterday!

message 138: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) I've been thinking about a nook also, but I'm just not sure about it.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I almost bought an Ereader. But I love paperbooks too much. Though, I would love to get some books in eread form that I wasn't sure about. Especially YA titles.

message 140: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Dec 16, 2010 10:20PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I love my Nook, but also want a K3. I'm addicted to being able to get books so easily (especially the free arcs/gallies).

Although, the temptation of getting a Nook color has been slowly creeping up on me. Since I already own a dedicated ereader that's not backlit, it would be fun to have one that I can read magazines on and use as more of a web browsing device. I'm pretty sure that my Nook library would carry over between both devices, but not positive.

message 141: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I am sure that if you ask at B&N they would be able to answer that question for you Stacia.

message 142: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments They would Stacia, and they would sync as well. I kind of want one just so I can mess around with it. If you root them you can add Android apps and use it more like a tablet. You would also be able to get the Kindle app for android and read kindle books on it as well. I love tinkering with stuff like that.

Why do you want a Kindle Stacia? Do they only offer kindle ARCs or Galleys?

message 143: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Yeah, I have had to buy a couple Kindle books. I stripped the drm though and put them on my Nook.

I got my nook when the kindle 3 was announced, but not yet released. I thought about getting one, mostly because it was lighter. But ultimately I wanted epub and library access and I didn't like the directional pad or buttons on the Kindle 2, sony, or Kobo so I got the nook.

I would love a NC, but I don't need one so I doubt I will get one (unless it is way down the road). I would soooooooooo love to do some rooting though with it and play with the android apps.

Jessica B | 292 comments I received Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick for Christmas! So I decided that yesterday (being my last vavation day) I would sit down and get some reading in! I couldn't put it down and can't believe the ridiculous cliffhanger I was left with!

Great read! 5 stars!

message 145: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) Wow! I had that on hold at the library, but I never picked it up.

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I LOVED Silence! I really did. (view spoiler)

I think this was as good or better than Hush, Hush. I loved Patch in this one. Scott was ok too. Poor Nora had some hard stuff to go through, but she held strong. I really admired her.
