Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments I'm not sure I consider myself 'alive' until I've had my morning coffee. My older sister, who knows me way too well, once bought me a T-shirt which said 'Coffee doesn't just pick me up it carries me around'

message 252: by [deleted user] (new)

I have never understood the attraction to coffee. Occasionally I try it because I think I should like it and it smells nice, and maybe I just haven't found a good one yet. I then have the desperate urge to brush my teeth to get rid of the after taste.

message 253: by Neko (new)

Neko @Tracey- Lol! Great tshirt XDD

@Gail- There are plenty of coffees out there to try :) I think it can take a little while to get used too. I drink it more for the 'pep' it gives especially for the morning kick. Otherwise I chew gum that has caffeine in it when I work..lol

Yeah, scented inks never really smell nice. I usually write with a different pen and ink every day so I get to use all the pens I have inked. And I actually find the whole pen cleaning process relaxing...weird I know. :)

Leanne (leanne83) Tracey wrote: "I rarely use pens of any kind any more if I can get out of it because my handwriting is so awful that sometimes even I can't read it but I'd still love a really nice fountain pen."

My writing used to be so messy even I struggled to read it. But this year I set out to change my style of handwriting, and it's a lot better now. It took a lot of practice but it's well worth it. My cursive writing now has an old fashioned look to it.

Leanne (leanne83) Laura wrote: "We should start a pen group! Haha...I collect markers xD I love browsing through art shops and differen shops for different kinds! :3. ..."

Markers are great, I used to collect them before I started on fountain pens. There's so much wonderful stuff in art shops.

Leanne (leanne83) Carmel wrote: "Leanne, do you have any pieces of your writing or art that you could share with us (no pressure) - if you have a pic of it/them?"

Hi Carmel, thanks for your interest but I don't really have anything at the moment worth putting up. I loved art and writing at school, but after I left school I didn't keep practicing. I'm slowly getting back into it now, so I'm still a bit rusty...A few years ago I used to write music, film and game reviews but I got a bit bored with the technical side of review writing, I much prefer creative writing, which is what I'm trying to concentrate on now. I just wish I could settle on a plot line, then I can get some writing done :)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments @ Leanne - I'd love to have nice handwriting but I think ten years of taking notes at Uni have destroyed any chance of that - on the plus side I can now usually figure out doc's handwriting just from deciphering my own scribble lol

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 211 comments I'd have preferred a picture of Jessica Alba in her outfit from Sin City... Can we have that on Monday?

message 264: by [deleted user] (new)

Is there a particular reason why you need to wait until Monday Murray?

message 265: by Murray (new)

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 211 comments Laura wrote: "I wish Dark Angel didn't get canned..that show was good."

Agreed. I was impressed at how well they managed to end it with such short notice though. Did you listen to the commentary to find out what the marks were and where the story was going?

I haven't since I only used to watch it on tv or my vhs recording (my that brings back memories..lol). I am guessing the commentary is on the DVD set then?

message 277: by Murray (new)

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 211 comments Laura wrote: "I am guessing the commentary is on the DVD set then? "

That's where I heard them. I can't see anything on the net with the details. I can send you an private message with the overall idea if you like.

No, I'm with you Gail. I did learn to eat the tangy ones we found in Bhutan, but the types I've had here are too sweet.

He’s very cute Gail. When I first saw him, he was this little black ball with these huge eyes. They were far too big for his body. He reminded me of Gomez from the Adams Family so we decided to call him that.

I have a couple photos of Gomez on my profile. I haven’t worked out how to paste them on this board yet.

Carmel, I am so uncoordinated when it comes to dancing. Zumba defiantly hasn’t improved me…haha…it’s still a lot of fun.

Ground control to Major Tom!
Thanks for the comments on Bowie

I have recently redrawn a pic that was in Playboy called Adam & Eve in the 70's I'll see if i can post it here sometime...Or alternatively you can see it in my profile I think...

I've seen Salt as well and the 'plot' is kinda one that goes over your head. But she is great in action movies ;) If you enjoy seeing her in action maybe check out WANTED if you haven't already. It's based on the comic but DON'T compair the two because they really botched it in terms of 'following the comic'. One example, Angelina plays a character called Fox who in the comic is actually a black woman. So things like this are just kinda odd, though I can't complain of seeing Angelina in this kick ass role..ehehehe.

I also watched GiA earlier on this year with her as the lead role..Based on a true story as well. It was a tele movie on HBO in USA years ago buuuut I highly recommend picking up a copy. Has to be one of my all time favorite movies. Everyone played their roles so well.

Yeah Salt is really cool and the plot really twists and turns It really did take 3 watches to take in the plot... As i said First time i was making dinner and watching and missing the plot. second time i fell asleep as it was getting real late. 3rd, bingo! I got it and wow! She is some powerfull lady!...A face I have to draw!

I tried drawing her once...Didn't work out so well..But I'm not so much into drawing real life..Cartoon characters is sweet for me..lol.

My only real successful sketch was this-

But i do prefer to draw cartoons like Mickey- [image error]
