So Terra I checked out the ARG Wikipedia link you provided and I THINK MY BRAIN JUST FELL OUT!!!! OMG. Do you have to study that stuff at uni? I even had to look up meme! LOL. But it's totally fascinating. Can you recommend any for people who are just starting out? I saw that they often create them as part of introducing a new TV series or movie. Are there any of those types around at the moment?

message 203: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa Favourites are always hard for me to choose. I tend to have lists, and each thing on my list is there for different reasons. But here it goes ...

My Favorite...
1. Time of Day: Evening
2. Food: Pizza with potato, baby spinach leaves, parmesan, and any other topping I feel like at the time. I had potato pizza in Rome in February, and it was the best pizza I'd ever had, so I had to try make it at home.
3. Drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic): Either Bailey's Irish Cream or Midori
4. Band/singer: I'm going to choose from composers instead, since most of the music I listen to these days is instrumental, movie scores, etc. John Williams and James Horner
5. Actor: Neil Patrick Harris
6. Spot in Australia: I live in Adelaide, and I've only ever been interstate once, to Sydney, and was only there for 5 hours, but I love Adelaide, so until I've seen more of Australia, Adelaide would be my favourite
7. Team/Sport: Figure skating, favourite skater is Midori Ito
8. Car: Sunshine yellow Volkswagon Beetle.
9. Animal: Cats are my favourite domestic animal, I have 3. And for wild animals my favourite is the Amur leopard. It was shown on the documentary Planet Earth; it is the rarest cat in the world, with only an estimated 40 left in the wild
10. Activity: Reading
11. Things to collect: Rocks. I'm studying geology at uni, and its been an interest of mine since I was little.

Don't worry about making choices Vanessa you can always come back in later and post a different list.

A very good friend of mine is a geologist. He gets very excited about rocks. We used to go camping every year at South Durras, one year he took us to the spot where you can see the Sydney Basin emerges.

Vanessa Carmel wrote: "Are you at Flinders Uni, my eldest brother studied Geology there a number of years ago. Good luck with that, you'd be sitting exams soon wouldn't you?"

No, I'm at Adelaide Uni. I was thinking about going to Flinders, but it's pretty far from where I live, so Adelaide Uni was more convenient, especially since I work in the city, too.

I don't have exams for geology for my first year; we have 3 written tests and a rock identification test throughout the semester instead. I have an exam for biology though, on Friday, but once that's over I'll be free until March next year.

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments @ Becca - I totally agree with Mt Tamborine, my younger sister got married there as did one of my older nieces. Stunning spot. And I don't care about football so you can go for whoever you like. I'm only interested in AFL and support Hawthorn so????

@ Laura - Ain't nothing in the world like a cold beer and I too love Melbourne's clothes shops - I must save up and go down for a shopping spree and a trip to the Zoo and Museum, which I also love.

message 223: by [deleted user] (new)

@laura - I'm quite partial to a beer as well. Nothing better than an icy cool beer on a hot summer day. I'm probably a beer heathen though. I like a corona with a slice of lime. :)

Hee, we have a silly game we play in the car with the kids. If they see a mini they get a happy point, there is a little more to the game but the kids love it. We had my son's 15 year old baseball coach in the car last weekend. Much to our surprise he jumped in enthusiastically gaining 3 happy points on a 15 minute car trip. Who would have thought?

message 247: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn Rykiert | 315 comments I have a glass fountain pen that I bought up at Montville along with 4 scented inks. I was disappointed with the inks though as they weren't as nice smelling as I had hoped for. I just don't get time to use them all and of course I find the fountain pens don't work if you are not using them all the time but I still like them. It's good to know there is someone else out there who likes them too.

message 248: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments I rarely use pens of any kind any more if I can get out of it because my handwriting is so awful that sometimes even I can't read it but I'd still love a really nice fountain pen.
