It's not funny Rita, I'm in the naughty corner now and Brenda says I can't take a book, and Phrynne says I can but I think she's thinking something like Proust's masterpiece In Search of Lost Time!!!

LOL - a teacher friend of mine does that - it is not a 'naughty corner' she calls it a reflection corner. but there are books there and a poster picture of a pool in a forest with trees reflected in it. the reflection pool :)

Down on the south coast we had enough rain last week to do us for a long while. Floods and road closures resulted. I would gladly have parcelled up some of our rain. Big clean ups going on for some people. Thankfully we were not among then. The advantage of living on a bit of a hill.

Seriously, that sounds silly you can't call it that :/ But coming to think of it I don't hear 'naughty corner' being used anymore in school. I usually see 'relocating' for a child who's been really naughty.

I have heard in other places people call it the 'thinking corner' or 'cool out corner' or something like that...Or sometimes it's simply go sit away from everyone else so you can stop causing problems..lol

message 22375: by Neko (new)

Neko I've known people to use 'time out corner' now that you mention it Rita.

Saying 'time in' reminds me at HS we used to have internal suspension which kids would refer to as the 'dog box' but I guess that's different again?

message 22376: by Veronica ⭐️ (new)

Veronica ⭐️ | 2386 comments I've missed so much helpful information while I've been trying to catch up on reading. I like the idea of reflection corner even if the children don't understand what the word means. My time out is the laundry and I just call it the laundry. It doesn't get used much only for hitting and biting. I like the idea of books there although I think the longest anyone has stayed there is about 5 seconds.

You're making us all envious Marianne! I'd love to be heading to Paris right now!

My DH also flew off this morning for two weeks in Israel and London. A work trip but he'll have a little free time and will be catching up with friends in both places.

I don't know - Mittagong has its garden and craft shops - and like Paris is near to wineries :)
