Suz | 4436 comments My daughter (via hubbies credit card) came back from the shops with two books chosen off my lists! Wrapped up in Christmas paper with a card about how much they appreciate me!!!! One I own and one I'd read (apparently the lady at dymocks had to go through many books then Reese decided to just to grab a different one from one of the authors). She also made a comment about being surprised I hadn't read Bridget Jones Diary, and Reese thought that was a bit rude! So I'll go back and chose some others. What a cool surprise!

Kangaroo? you know what? it sounds strange enough that it probably actually is good. I will try most things once.

Kangaroo salami is quite good if you can get your hands on it.

Rita, Here's an informative link: http://www.mygetridofguide.com/how-to...

The big things is to get rid of them before eggs arrive. Once there's eggs, you're pretty stuffed.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Rita. You poor thing. We have them here on the beach and in the park; really aggressive sometimes. And I certainly won't be seen dead wandering along the beach with a flag above my head, lol. Although having Mo the boxer dog with me usually keeps me safe.

Just be aware around mid July next year. I would screen all vegies etc next year with chicken wire or the like. The trick is not too attract them.

Not a fan of kangaroo meat I find it a bit tough - although my niece had some on a camping tour of Kakadu and she said it was melt in the mouth tender - the secret is to have it extremely rare. Even pink it starts to toughen.

However, have tried Kangaroo salami and it was delicious!

LOL! Last year there were some nesting in the empty lot next to my daughter's house. The local kids were wearing their bike helmets - and one little wag was walking around with his cricket pads on!

My 2 year old granddaughter has no fear and puts up her arms and runs back at them roaring at the top of her voice. The militant little birds actually turn tale and flee. Her parents and grandparents however had to drag her in and have a stiff reviving drink when we saw what she was up to!

Faye (lastchapter) | 409 comments I have had some school kids reading on ipads etc, they have enjoyed it, however, I would not want them not reading from regular books at all as they progress through school they will need to use novels as well. But if they are reading that is also great. I worry about their eyes if they over use technology. Some research also said that when kids read paper they can see how far they have read, this could be good for good readers however for challenged readers would this show that they are not getting very far?? So is it better for them to read with an ereader??

Yes that is still a big argument but I think each reader is different, I must say I like reading big heavy novels on my ereader, as holding a huge book is tiresome. Sounds like he is being exposed to all such as library etc, which is great. Sounds like you are doing a great job.

message 22146: by Neko (new)

Neko I saw a family of plovers today in a vacant lot of land...it used to be home to loads of bunnies...but today i saw about 3 white fluffy chicks running around.

i asked my mum what she'd do about the plover problem out of curiosity and she said "chuck the eggs away.." i was shocked to hear that as it wasn't completely serious..then i asked if plovers would be attatched to the eggs or not....lol I know probably impossible to get to even if you wanted to relocate the eggs.
