That's pretty exciting Kiera! Perhaps you could get your Mum to get your books signed by her:)

Wouldn't that be awesome? Lol, but I don't like to intrude on famous peoples' lives. They probably get so sick of that!

Neko Maybe ask your mum if you think it would be okay to get the autograph or not..Di might be fine with it...never know until you ask :)

That's interesting Keira, I see some art work of hers on the wall of a cafe at Ballina, when we go there every year. Makes sense. I remember you saying you grew up around there. Lucky you :)

Yes, that's correct. I went to school in Alstonville and was born in Lismore. I can't stand Lismore, but Ballina is a lovely place.

Marina Finlayson | 285 comments Don't know about everyone else, but I'm knee-deep in school holidays. With three kids at home I'm either supplying food or taxi rides, so not much time for Goodreads (or even reading). Love those school holiday sleep-ins, though!

I'm here Carolyn! Had a lovely sleep-in after an 8.5 hour day on the road yesterday - over 700km from Swan Hill to Yass!!! A day off today then on the road again tomorrow:) Home mid-late afternoon after a month away:)

Wow, that sounds awesome, Brenda. I'm in real need of a road trip holiday. I really want to do the one I planned where I drive all the way down East Coast (but inland through Orange, Canberra etc) to Melbourne and then across to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Rd and back to QLD from the middle (Western NSW), staying at all different types of accommodation- B&Bs, farm stays etc.

Hi Carolyn! I've been in and out of late but it has been so quiet here that I could hear the keys on my keyboard echoing! O_o
I guess everyone has been busy with kids and holiday things....and chocolate overload ;)

That whole working-for-a-living thing is terribly inconvenient sometimes, isn't it? I'd like to win the lottery so I could spend my days reading, but I keep buying the wrong tickets!

I'm so glad not to have to worry about school holidays any more! Trying to juggle enough leave from work to have some time off with the kids so they didn't have to spend all holidays at vacation care, but then looking forward to them being back at school. It was all good fun though (and I do miss it)!

I know how you feel: washing, chores, all that mail to open (bills, yuk, but books too, yay!), bit of an anti-climax at the same time as looking forward to your own bed and your own shower and everything how you like it.

Yeah, I was at work. On work days I don't have time to linger and chat on GR, much as I'd like to. Doubt that I could even access it at work! I suppose I could take my tablet with me and look at lunch time.....

Yes thank you, Suzanne. I have the type of nature who is always looking for my next trip to see new places and I am also looking forward to being able to indulge my nomadic character: I want to live in as many places around the country as possible by moving (and transferring) every 5 years or so. I'm really excited about it.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Gave what Lego I had left to my boss for his son, kid was absolutely wrapped.

Lego is great stuff, always nice to see it go where it will be appreciated.
