Oooppps!!! I just realised I ranted and raved about your daughter Brenda. Still it obviously was quite a vicious attack. What do you think got into him? I'm sorry to hear that your foot got infected and that you've had to spend some of your holiday time in hospital. Hope it's all good from here on in and there are no more dramas. :)

No idea Elaine, we have tossed it back and forth and can't come up with anything that gives a reason! Do dogs need a reason? lol!

It's much better today, bruising coming out and no sign of the infection now with the swelling also going down:) So I'm considering myself very lucky!

Daughter is extremely embarrassed and apologetic - so much so that I ended up saying "you didn't bite me"!! Just an unfortunate event that is over and done with now:)

It's an unfortunate thing for all of you Brenda and you're absolutely right...sometimes animals just freak out for no apparent reason. Hopefully you can all put it behind you and enjoy your Easter celebrations and the rest of your holiday.

message 18556: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 89 comments Happy Easter weekend from me as well. We're not going anywhere ourselves - just planning a relaxing weekend. Although my oven really needs a good clean so this may be the weekend to do it. And reading. And eat a bit of chocolate.

Safe travels to all those who are heading off somewhere :)

Thanks Brenda and a Happy Easter to you and all the other wonderful people here on AR. Being Greek Orthodox I don't celebrate Easter till next Sunday, which is so silly really. It's not as though Jesus died twice!!!! Wish they could sort it out.

Well, I only had to do that for half my walking, now I'm continuing with A Man Called Ove, much more fun.
Unfortunately, one has to keep up with current knowledge and do CE (continuing education), often boring but essential.

That is interesting Bette, although still slightly confusing and annoying. Don't think I could explain it to my kids. They and I just came to accept the fact that we often times celebrate Easter at a different time to their friends. On the upside we often get to have two Easters so that's not too bad!!!! :)

Well! This is turning into the holiday from hell! Some ***** just backed into our car! Luckily it's only the bumper that has been damaged but once we get home we'll more than likely be without a car for a couple of weeks!

Happy Easter!

Oh no, Brenda!!! Be careful as they do say bad things come in threes. Maybe you should have just stayed in Melbourne? Things seemed to be going smoothly for you here and we would have had your lovely company for a bit longer. Fingers crossed nothing else happens to you. It sounds like you're still keeping your sense of humour though and staying positive. I can sense that even through all the stuff that's happened to you in the last few days. Take care. :)

message 18585: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments Oh, Brenda, how annoying! Still, someone did it to you.
My hubby loves to regale people with the story of "when Marianne crashed the car in Ireland" in his inimitable dramatic way. I backed into a wall, did slight damage to the bumper bar and the car hire place didn't even notice when we returned the car, so all my tears were wasted!!

message 18586: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments Happy Easter weekend to everyone.
Raining here.
Hubby is currently reading The God Delusion. Over lunch, he was telling me quite a few bits & pieces out of it. In the end I said, Look, I do plan to read this book myself so don't give away the ending or I'll be really annoyed.
;) LOL

Another reason is also because it is yet another holiday stolen from the various pagan god worshippers that were around in the thousands of years before the advent of Christianity.

Those people became the Christians, Kiera. Of course they brought their holidays with them. Christianity didn't appear out of thin air. Jesus himself was Jewish.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) @Kiera This is just an observation: Your link is interesting 'information' but isn't it simply a forum? None of the 'facts' purported seem to have citations listed.

I'd hate to be an atheist, imagine having nothing to believe in, regarding faith and the afterlife. But I have no wish to starting a religious argument here in GR.

What's wrong with not believing in an afterlife? I believe that this is all That we have, so we must make the most of it while we are here. I take comfort in the fact that we are just a tiny part of a massive, beautiful universe and that we are basically made up of stardust and when we die, we return to the stars as Particles. I would like to give back when I die as well, by being cremated and Put in a bio urn, which you then plant and a tree grows from my remains.

I think it would be best if we have no more discussion about religion please. It's a subject that has many people divided and Aussie Readers is not the place to discuss it. Thanks guys :)
