Sounds like some lovely activities happening on the holiday weekend :) Good to hear! I just met with fellow mod Michael for coffee and chat, which of course we did plenty of :) Wandered around Dillons bookstore and we were very restrained ;)

Thanks guys:) No, no photo of us!!! Forgot again:(

My foot is a lot better, thanks for asking everyone:) The swelling has gone down, the redness has also gone. The bruising is showing itself nicely now and the puncture wounds are healing:) I still have a day and a half of antibiotics to take and then I should be back to "normal"... Definitely an experience I have no desire to repeat!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments I forgot to mention that on Wednesday I attended an Author Talk at the local library by Craig Cormick who was talking about two of his books Uncle Adolf and Ned Kelly: Under the Microscope Ned Kelly Under the Microscope by Craig Cormick .
He read some of Uncle Adolf and I think that will be a very funny one to read once the library processes the books they got from him and my reserve comes up.
And the one about Ned Kelly was very interesting, may have to read that sometime .... he brought along a replica iron mask which we could try on.

And this coming Wednesday, going to the Kate Grenville Dymocks Literary Lunch. She will be talking about One Life My Mother's Story by Kate Grenville but I will also take along my copy of The Idea of Perfection by Kate Grenville to get it signed, as that's my favourite book of hers so far.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) The end of DST, and all the farmers down here are breathing a sigh of relief that they and their cows are now back in sync for milking time!

Personally, I always take a few days to adapt...

Kathryn | 3569 comments I've been away at a music festival since Thursday evening and not checking GR/emails, so have a bit to catch up on - you guys have been very busy in this thread, so I'm not going to read all the posts!!

I was camping at the festival in Toowoomba in Queensland, and it rained Thurs, Fri and Sat - I never want to have to walk (wade??) through that much mud again!! My feet were permanently dirty, and even now I'm home and showered, I still can't get the ingrained mud off them!! Ah well, it was an interesting experience!

Interesting Kathryn...but did you enjoy the festival? Such a shame - Easter is notorious for rain, though here in Adelaide the first three days were fine (today not so much) but at home it's been raining constantly!

message 18647: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments Yes, I have hubby well trained and he came in to say the rain was trying.... got the washing in just in time, now it's pelting down

Kathryn | 3569 comments Brenda wrote: "Kathryn wrote: "I've been away at a music festival since Thursday evening and not checking GR/emails, so have a bit to catch up on - you guys have been very busy in this thread, so I'm not going to..."

I didn't go into the festival again after I tiptoed through the mud at 8am on Saturday on the way down from the camping area to where I was working at the front desk (and despite my caution, still got mud everywhere!) - I found a work around to get from the front to the tent that involved walking further, but no mud! So I only went for a wander around the festival once on Friday, but it seems a good time was had by all!

My solution to get from the tent to the desk where I was working didn't help with getting from the tent to the crew bathrooms (as that route also had a mud pit in the middle of it), but I found a different bathroom to use that didn't involve passing through the mud!

Maybe I'm getting too old to see mud as a joyful experience! But I'm not sure I ever enjoyed playing in mud even as a little girl!

Glad Adelaide's been mostly fine for you!
