I have to admit, being down south the water was a bit nippy but refreshing.

Sally906 | 89 comments Morning all - just a quick visit before work. Well I am at work but don't start for another 45 mins so it's coffee and goodreads time :)

Was my hubby's birthday during the week so the daughter and family are coming over tomorrow to celebrate - will be Lasagne and chocolate cake on the menu. Not on the same plate of course. Will also be Mac cheese for the daughter as she won't eat anything with onion in it so no lasagne for her, unless I compromise and use onion powder which she will accept.

It's funny she'll eat Kale and brussel sprouts but not onion - strange young woman!!!

Our youngest grandchild (20 months) - little miss Lily has also decided she won't eat at our place unless she is sitting on Poppy's lap. So I put her bowl next to hubby's plate and she swaps food back and forth happily while she eats.

Tonight hubby and I might even see what the weather is like and go to the beach for sunset drinks - is a Friday tradition for us in the dry season - but not sure if it is quite the time yet.

What are your weekend plans?

I went to the markets a couple of years ago Sally, loved it up there. The sunset was amazing. Sounds like your weekend will be great. We don't have many plans, my big kids have been away since Monday riding their motorbikes with their Dad in the Blue Mountains so my peace is about to be shattered ;)

message 18827: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) OK, if you are NON-WHITE, stay away from this book Ending White Slavery. It is written by Matthew F. Hale, the highest priest of the nontheistic and ethnocentric religion, Creativity, and the founder of the group formerly known as the World Church of the Creator and now known as The Creativity Movement.

In 1998, Hale made headlines when his application for an Illinois law license was denied due to his religious beliefs in Creativity, described as a "gross deficiency in moral character".

The guy is a racist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_...

Matthew Hale sounds like a right piece of work. What's even more scary is that someone (white) has rated his book 5 stars. Ugh!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments Just off to visit hubby in hospital, Cardiac Stepdown Unit. Not sure for how long, hours, days? He is being investigated for Atrial Flutter with AV Block, but I am confident this can be sorted out. I think it's an after effect of dehydration due to the colitis he has been suffering recently.
Fifteen years ago, he ended up in the cardiac unit after he got dehydrated when he had a twisted bowel.
And right now, he's in the best place for what he has.
Maybe he will be told to stop smoking..... one can only hope.
Maybe cut down the alcohol, drink more water? Make his life a misery, but the alternative isn't so hot. And he'll still have his bikes!

Sharon | 5509 comments Hi everyone, sorry I've been absent from the group for a little bit. A few weeks a ago I had my mum in hospital which gave me and her quite a scare. But she is now a lot better and back home. In between making sure she is alright and now I'm doing her housework as well as attending to my business and running my own household I feel I have been on the go non stop. My reading and reviews have all come to a standstill so now that I'm finally getting on top of things I hope to catch with it all somehow. Hope everyone is well.

Marianne - I hope all goes well with your hubby. My thoughts are with you both.

Yeah, no sickie! But lots of consideration and commiseration and very good care from the pharmacy aspect of things, as well as nursing, when they realise it's a family member of a staff member.

I popped down to the pharmacy and they were in the dark (just minimum light & power, some big changeover with the building work.) Two computers on, but it was actually hard to see what you were typing on the keyboard. I spent a bit of time helping out then hubby was awake when I went back up to see him, whinging as only a Pommie can, about dinner (what, no salt!!!), which, I admit, didn't look all that appetising....
He'll be there until at least Tues when he has a TOE (Trans Oesphageal Echo) and possibly a cardioversion.
Tomorrow I have to bring shampoo and more reading matter: he has almost finished The God Delusion and the papers.
