Hilarious... Reminds me of how cool Virgin Blue used to be before they qantas-ised themselves and stopped having fun on board.

Good to have you back Sharon. Glad to hear your Mum is home now. Thoughts and prayers with you both.

Very cute at that age.

@Marianne Sounds like the hospital has things in hand.
@Sharon I bet you're relieved that your Mum is now home.

Glad your mum is ok now - must have been scary for you. Even though you're busy make time for you. Even if it is only 30 mins with your eyes closed listening to music or nature patting your dog.

Thanks Sally and yes it was a scare I think it took ten years off my life. And you're so right making time for me is also important. Finally started to do a bit of that today with sitting and reading. Didn't realise how much I'd missed reading :)

Sharon so sorry to hear about your Mum not being well and I can imagine it would have been quite a worrisome and scary time for you. I did wonder what had happened to you as I missed you here on AR. Glad to hear she's doing better now and is home and you can hopefully relax and get back on track. And back to your reading especially. :)

He is in good spirits but bored with being in hospital and quite fed up with the food. But fasting from midday so I can't bring him the requested Cheese and vegemite sandwich, even if it's with low-fat cheese....

Hope all goes well for him Marianne and this fixes the problem.A worrying time when loved ones are in hospital.

Will be thinking of your hubby tomorrow Marianne and hoping that procedure works for him. Take care of yourself as well :)

We have steady rain here..in fact it's been raining most of the night. Plus the temperature has dropped considerably. Very cosy snuggled in bed ;)

Good luck for you both tomorrow, sounds like he's a little bit cheeky Marianne ;)

On the treadmill this morning, 7am, still 8k to go when the power goes off. Not a blip, stays off. Bummer!
OK, what can I do without power?
Well, I can make a batch of yoghurt, and cook up some soup and make a cup of tea with breakfast (metal kettle stashed away for this purpose), because I have a gas range (always grateful for that on these occasions)
I could write a few reviews but the battery on the laptop and the tablet and the phone are going to run down....
ditto to paying Mum's bills online.
I could pop down to the Post Office and the shops, but opening the garage door in a power outage is challenging, especially as it's dark in there in this weather (it's pouring rain and cold), not exactly walking weather, so perhaps delay that one.
Oh here's a man delivering something to me in a truck. That's right, it's the satellite phone Telstra are giving us because our phone line is out (lucky the internet is on another line!), but of course I can't charge it because the power is out.
I can use up the avocados in the fridge to make some guacamole, no power except my own required for that.
Let's just use the tablet to see how long it's going to be out (yay, another advantage of having a tablet with 4G). Oh bummer, midday.
I could tidy the house :(
maybe not.
I could have a cup of coffee and read :D
Oh look, 9am and the power's back on.
Well, breakfast over with, yoghurt and soup almost made. Guess I can check the mail then get back to the treadmill and read, or as Vicki said TRead.

Although I did have to post 2 books I'd sold and my bowel screen kit (I know, sorry TMI!!)

Geez Marianne, what you get up to without power could generate enough power to light up a small country! I imagine your treadmill going.."thank goodness for small mercies!" Lol :)
You need to invest in one of those small, portable chargers for your electronic devices. You can take it with you for back up power. They are not very big and store quite a good amount of charge in them for extra power.

Double hilarious Marianne ;) So that's how you look soooo much younger than what you are. Walking walking walking. When the power is on at least!

Wait till I send you my holiday emails....
We haven't got it that bad ATM, but it was pretty bad a little while ago! Flooding is on the way I would say:( Take care everyone!!

Excellent! Now a nice cuppa and a good book in a comfy chair ;)

We just made the same comment Carolyn - so glad to be home; inside out of the terrible weather (and it's bucketing down here now!) I feel sorry for drivers trying to get home at the end of the day. There are bound to be accidents as those few people persist in not adjusting their driving to the conditions!

No brains, some of the drivers out there!

How did you guess what I'd be doing Jools?
Definitely not a good day to be out on the roads Brenda and Dale!
Safe trip home everyone, watch out for the maniac drivers!

Ditto that! Glad to hear our AR folk arriving home safely.

Wrap them in garbage bags Marianne, if they get too soggy. Fingers crossed for you.

LOL
If I have to, I'll put them through the washer spin cycle and hang them in the garage, the towels, that is.

Lol...I meant the wet towels, you can use them like sand bags then. Poor you, you can't take a trick at the moment! Its still bucketing down sideways here too :(
