It's amazing the difference between a few hundred kilometres that's for sure!!! 4c overnight tonight:(

message 18305: by Ryan (new)

Ryan A few hundred km Brenda? I'm in the same house as last night and tonight it's ten degrees colder. Go Melbourne.

You're in Melbourne Ryan? Well yes, it's definitely cold! A little colder here but it's all relative I guess!!

I've got to say I'm loving the colder weather here in Melbourne at the moment and the rain is so welcome. How wonderful Brenda to be where you are and sitting in your bush cabin, reading your book. Is there an open fire?

message 18308: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80174 comments Mod
No open fire Elaine:( But the heater is going merrily;) We haven't had any rain today, just a bitterly cold wind and low temps. And yes as I said previously, much nicer than the humidity that is still at home!

I know some people find it a problem but I guess you just have to set your own limits. I have the luxury of getting into work early so have half an hour to have coffee, check my email and pop into GR for a few minutes and sometimes also check in for a bit at lunch time (on my personal iPad of course!)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) So cold here on Vic SouthWest coast yesterday that I had the heating on. Had wee doggie draped over a duct, cat over another!

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments Morning! It finally cooled down here after a quick thunderstorm, and it's lovely this morning.

What a vast country - Bette's pets are draped over heating ducts, and we had our aircon on!

message 18325: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 89 comments Well our last chance for rain has gone Cyclone Nathan crossed the coast 1000 kms away and disspersed, we were hoping for a few days rain out of him - such a lousy wet season this year.

The dry season starts officially in 5 weeks - but hoping it arrives early. No rain and high humidity for the last 6 months has taken a toll on everyone. Even our heat lovers are complaining.

Suz | 4436 comments I'm a summer junkie! I have a question for you guys, I think I've noticed on Sally's books (others as well maybe Brenda). You guys must have been organised, prior GR, did you keep a running spreadsheet of your books read? Then transfer it over? What a good idea!!

message 18330: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6949 comments I certainly didn't before Goodreads. I have added a few since as I thought if them but too many are too long ago to write reviews on.

message 18331: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments My beef and veggie stew is in the slow cooker coming along nicely and smelling lovely. The slow cooker is full to the top, so that's a few meals for the freezer, and some Sunday lunches for my Mum too.

Suz | 4436 comments Marianne that sounds so good! I wanted to do a roast today but I didn't have one in the freezer. I'm due to do a huge shop. I hate going too often so like doing it as bulky as possible :)

Same. If I did a review from long ago, sometimes I'd do a few lines.

We are home from a wonderful day with Vicki and Alan - such delightful, friendly people. They made us feel very welcome and Richard and Alan chatted like old friends while Vicki and I did the same. Beautiful countryside, with a tranquil peace surrounding their place. Loads of birds which fly right up to the house, bathing in the bird baths and saying hello:)

I was on librarything for years (still am on the very odd occassion) downloaded books onto a spreadsheet then uploaded here.

I also have a spreadsheet of read books which I started in 2007 - each year has a new sheet - I have this spread sheet backed up in various places so if I lose on one contraption it can be found in another :)
