Thanks for that Mish. If I don't hear back tomorrow I'll send in the feedback. Apart from a book I missed out on by one day because I didn't see the email straight away, I haven't had any other problems.

Oh that a shame...must've been a really bad copy.
Happy that there's a few of us using Netgalley now, to give each other tips and advice :)

You're welcome Carolyn :)

Yes it's helpful to get advice from other users...I emailed Shelleyrae a few times when I first started:)

We arrived in our resort accommodation in Kyneton yesterday for a week's stay - what a beautiful place! In the middle of the bush, we are in an individual villa - they are dotted throughout the bush; totally separate from each other and just like a little house. Gorgeous! But oh gosh, so very cold this morning! 7c overnight and the wind chill factor would be lower! We didn't pack clothing for this sort of temperature :/ But we will manage as the place is fabulous!
Will do some tourist sightseeing - Bendigo, Castlemaine and various others. Plus as we drove here yesterday and passed the sign to Hanging Rock, I said to hubby that we might have a "Picnic at Hanging Rock" while we were here - never to be seen again;) Haha!!

LOL!!! There's an information centre there with lots of history about the Rock - you can even climb it! "Learn all about the school girls who went missing; never to be seen again"!!! I'm confused though, as I thought it was a fictional story???

I had a vague recollection it was based on real events but not a hundred percent sure on that.

Then you can tell us all, Brenda. I thought it was only one girl disappeared but I might be remembering wrong or making it up as authors are do.LOL
The book blurb says it is up to the reader to decide if it is fact or fiction. My guess would be fiction:)

Brenda this would have been amazing reading material to coincide with your visit :) Only 58 pages, though I couldn't find it on Amazon for kindle :(

That has me intrigued now and I really want it. As it's the final chapter I suppose I need Picnic at Hanging Rock also.
Haha! That has started you all chatting! We didn't go to Hanging Rock today - possibly Monday. We went back into Melbourne (that's why we saw Elaine!) to our grandson's basketball grand final. We only watched one as the other had his at 8.30 this morning. But the nine year old and his team won their first grand final after a fabulous game. The team they played hadn't lost for the season! So proud of him. To top it off the younger one won his that morning too, and was best on the court! So two grand finals, and two wins! Excitement plus!
Off to Daylesford tomorrow to some markets...looking forward to that:) And wondering if I'll bump into Sandi Wallace who lives there!

Thanks Jools - I've heard this little 58 page "finale" is terrible. When I read Picnic at Hanging Rock either last year or the year before, I was going to get this one too, but the discussion from people who had read it said don't, it'll spoil the whole book for you... so I haven't bothered:)

LOL!! One of the kids in their team's Mum is a past player for Australia - Michelle something...

Dalesford is a lovely place, Brenda. Not many book stalls at the market when I was there about 6 months ago, but there are a couple in Daylesford it's self. Have fun :)

Thanks Sharon:) I don't mind about the book stalls - I really don't need (many) any more;) But I'm sure we will!

Brenda there's a gorgeous little bookshop and cafe near Lake Daylesford. Bookbarn@ Daylesford. It's been there for years. Not sure if the boathouse cafe has reopened. It wasn't open when we were there in November last year. Have a lovely time.

Yes, we've skied on and off for about fifteen years. I'm not a great skier, but I have a lot of fun. We're off to Japan (Hakuba) in January, and possibly Perisher in July/August.
Had a little mishap about seven years ago with my ACL in Hotham. It was just fine in Canada last year though. The rest of my family is very good at skiing and snowboarding.
Where are you off to?

I'm off to Wanaka in July. That means I'll have been in New Zealand twice within 6 months, since I was there in Jan!
And was the "mishap" with your ACL related to anything specific that you did or didn't do? Or was it just through overdoing thing? Ideally, I'd like to come home injury free(!) so if you have any tips for avoiding something that caused an injury, I'd love to hear it, Leonie!

I'd had a couple of partial ACL tears some years previously, Kathryn, and had actually discussed reconstruction with a surgeon about six months prior the Hotham moment :) He laughed when I saw him on my return home.
All you can do is work on your quads, gluts, and your agility, prior to skiing, and try and pace yourself. Lessons are always good too - they make sure you at least have technique.

You must try and get there I'm sure you and Richard won't disappear :)

I stayed on the beginner slopes as I didn't want to risk injury. We did tubing too (which I felt was more dangerous as no control).
I recommend Epsom salts in your bath at night (make sure your room has a bath) and deep heat!!
Other that star climbing will strengthen the right muscles :)

Kiera, sorry to hear that you are having such a tough time, but good to know that you have a good support network. Also that you are able to throw yourself into some productive work that serves to help distract you. It's Leonie and I who are going skiing (different times and different places) - I'm looking forward to it, just hoping I don't come back injured :-)
And thanks for the advice, Leonie and Sally. I am working on strengthening my legs. I don't think agility will be a big issue - like Sally, it is unlikely I will be going on anything other than beginner slopes, and it's probably also unlikely that I will be doing anything other than snowplowing!! I am planning on at least a couple of lessons, but I didn't progress very far with a whole week of lessons the last time so I'm not sure how helpful a 2 or 3 lessons will be this time, but hopefully better than nothing!

Sad to hear that Kiera. Good that you have people go support you.

That is sad, and you are very brave acknowledging the problems. Hang on tight to those friends and family.

Don't worry about your reading challenges. You'll get back to it eventually. What you need now is some comfort reading, books that are easy to read and make you feel good. Take care :)

It is a sure sign of weakness when a so called "man" hits a woman, because real men don't hit women...please remember that.

When I say weak Alice I don't mean physically weak, I mean weak in mind and spirit...as in gutless #%&@!!! To my mind they are less male in that they could never be considered Gentlemen.

See, my hubby is not at all masculine, but he is very aggressive in the way he speaks not just to me, but to anyone (He is always right kind of attitude). He very much has anger issues and parents who never disciplined him and told him that acting that way is not acceptable. His mum just always says, "Oh, just leave him. He'll be alright soon." So he has never had to deal with any sort of consequences to his actions, which has only added to the, "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude he has. He is a social outcast- his brothers don't even do anything with him unless there is a family get-together. He's just totally messed up in the head and he always has an excuse. He can never just say sorry when he upsets me. It's always, "I'm sorry, but I'm stressed. I'm sorry, but you shouldn't have done this. I'm sorry, but- I'm sorry, but-" He just does not understand one little thing about owning up to your mistakes and actions. I am already glad to be rid of him. I can breathe in my own house, I can do things my way without being harassed about it. I feel completely liberated!

Hi Julie, I think you meant say Alice not me ;)

This is the first time he ever hit me, but it will most definitely be the last. I wonder if there are non-controlling men, because a good chunk of the women in my family have certainly ended up with men like that. Strange, since the women in my family are generally pretty tough. Two of them left eventually, but the others have stayed. I just don't know if there are many decent men around. I know there are some, but they are usually taken for a reason. lol.

Sorry Mish ...all fixed :/ ...had just read one of your posts and must've neglected to change gears, my apologies. :)

Hmmm, well I might just leave that one off the list for now...I Googled it and there seems to be some lively discussion about the actually ending of the book and the validity of that 'extra' chapter. Another cliff hanger...so to speak ;)

So agree with that Julie.

So sorry to hear Kiera, but the best place for you to be is AWAY from him! The support from friends and family is so important and you sound like you have that:) All the best and don't go back to him as even though they say they will, the majority of them don't change...take care **hugs**

We had a lovely morning at Daylesford - the markets are at the Railway Station so they had tours in a little old train (we didn't go!). Then through Hepburn Springs and back to Kyneton where we had lunch and back here:)
And we have both just voted in the NSW State election! First time we've done it online and it was remarkably easy! I'm relieved now it's done as we had until the 28th and I wasn't sure if the internet connection would be up to it!!

Thanks very much, Brenda. I'll get there eventually. Lol. And no, definitely NOT taking him back!
