Will be happy to write a review for this one, will also be interested to see what you think when you read it.

Lol Dale, my little dog used to be the worst offender! We would find her buried up to her shoulder blades in a Christmas bag looking for goodies... We could never wrap any treats or chocolates and leave under the tree :)

LOL. I know what you mean, Julie. There are just so many tempting pressies under that tree. I'm sure there must be a book or two under there somewhere :)

I know. They had all the checkouts open at woollies this morning - and all were loaded - I can't remember the last time that happened. Still two more weeks!!

Thanks Sally:) So much better than hiding them until Christmas Eve;)

message 16012: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 89 comments Finished my Christmas present shopping this morning then did a quick grocery shop and was stunned by the heaped shopping Trolly's - I am usually in and out by 10am but every check out was full!!

Didn't get home until 11:30 only to find out Wayne had agreed to mind the grandchildren this afternoon while their mum and dad did their Christmas shopping.

Spent 2 hours sitting on the floor with little cyclone Lily (16 months) as she inserted shapes into a plastic ball (yes Tupperware) and cheer every time she did one right. 2 HOURS!! My cheers were not as ethusiastic after half and hour!!! Her big brother spent the afternoon watching a honeyeater build a nest outside our bedroom window in a potted bamboo we only bought this morning - we popped it there ready to plant this afternoon and an hour later the nest was half made - so bamboo will not be planted until the birds have finished with it!!

My body is certainly not designed to sit on the floor anymore :) feet up reading was the medication when the kids left.

They certainly do tire us out don't they :) I've found the same..aches, creaks and groans! Good old Tupperware ball to the rescue :)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) My christmas shopping consisted of going to Big-W and buying a new vacuum cleaner. I love only having one person to buy stuff for.

Interestingly Julie, our dog has never touched presents. Of course, due to certain fingering people, ours don't go under the tree till Christmas Eve - late Christmas Eve, so she or anyone else doesn't have a lot of time for investigating.

I think this is the few days before for me Brenda so I'm stressing right on schedule! Six in-laws arriving on Thursday, my son's 21st on Saturday and then getting everyone packed and up to Terrigal on Sunday. After that I can relax and enjoy Christmas :)

Are you having a big Christmas at your place or going somewhere else this year?

message 16029: by K (new)

K | 1143 comments So I had the best night last night. I had a group of my closest friends from work come to my place for a Christmas party and it was a resounding success. Everyone enjoyed chatting with each other, I got to show off my animals and home to my friends, my husband didn't stress (lol) and best of all they LOVED my cooking! I was especially proud when they said my very first triffle that I've ever made was restaurant quality! I'm so happy, because I don't have many parties or visitors and I know I've got the best bunch of friends I have ever had in my life (with the exception of my friend who passed away in 2009). And as a bonus I finally got cuddles with my friend's new baby girl, Envy! :D

Is everyone from Sydney OK? The CBD is shut down, the Lindt cafe in Martin place has 13 hostages and the tactical police are all around... http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/lindt-choco...

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Was just talking about that with a couple mates who work in Sydney. Everything is sort of chaotic apparently.

message 16050: by Carolyn (last edited Dec 14, 2014 05:58PM) (new)

Carolyn | 9869 comments It sounds like it's just one lone guy and not an organisation, but still very scary and dangerous for the hostages. I hope it resolves well.

I don't know if any of our Sydney members work in Martin Place. It will be even more chaotic later on today when city workers try to get home as there are road closures and buses are not being allowed through the city centre and trains are disrupted.
