Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments Good Morning Dale! You are up early (or is it late??)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Hi Marianne, Dale and other EB's:) Hope you all have a enjoyable Sunday ahead.

It was early Marianne. Tried a while later to go back to bed but sleep was elusive, so I'm back here again.Just written a review of The Nine Lessons A Novel of Love, Fatherhood, and Second Chances by Kevin Alan Milne

message 15856: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 3569 comments Morning Marianne, Bette, Dale and any other early birds - I can't sleep either... :-( It's only 5am - and on a Sunday - how unfair!

Sharon | 5510 comments Good morning all. I was also up early 5:15. Another wet morning here so no walkies this mornig :(

Jülie ☼♄  (jlie) | 6581 comments Good morning all, I also woke at 5am. Tossed and turned till 6am and gave up when the thought of a cuppa became too great a temptation :)

message 15859: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9869 comments Hubby was up at 5 am to go cycling (ugh!) but I managed to go back to sleep for another hour. Doesn't always happen but we had a late night. I'm a big fan of the Sunday morning sleep-in but now it only happens when it's raining and cycling is cancelled! Still it's a nice morning for a walk :)

Sally906 | 89 comments Morning folks - I'm off to breakfast with some bookie friends - we meet the first Sunday every month and gossip and swap books. We've done this for years :)

Today we give each other gifts (always books) so we each have at least 2 pressies under the tree on Christmas Day

We also buy each other books that we would like to read as well because during the year we'll read our gifts and then pass them onto the others - the Christmas gift that keeps on giving - LOL!

message 15861: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 89 comments For a non-Goodreads challenge next year I have to read a book with the genre sport - non-fiction or fiction.

Would you guys class Yoga as a sport? I know it is normally associated with relaxation but a friend of mine does a type of Yoga that gets you all puffed and sweaty for fitness.

message 15867: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments When I go to visit my elderly Mum and bring her lunch (twice a week), if my local sister is there, we three have a few games of rummikub.
I am a novice so it has taken AGES for me to actually win a game.
I mentioned it to hubby and so he said, let's play a game here (we had a set here we had never used): he had never played so I explained the basics and managed to win a few games. Now we play a game or two every night and lately he wins all of them!! No fair!

message 15868: by Neko (new)

Neko Awe Marianne :( That is no fair!! I'm sure you'll win some against him soon!!

Hahaha..Never imagined getting disappointed because I couldn't get a book as a digital version..THAT is a first!

message 15869: by Sally906 (last edited Dec 06, 2014 08:59PM) (new)

Sally906 | 89 comments I looked in the genre section of Goodreads and found sports - this is the description:

Sports : engagement in physical activity intended to create a benefit to the participant. Ranging from Amateur to Professional, from incompetent to proficient, for all levels of ability, all nations, all creeds, all genders.

Did some googling and would you believe there is an Yoga Sport Association in Australia to promote the sport of Yoga!

That's all the evidence I need :)

Sally906 | 89 comments And once again I watch a storm sail past to the south. Everyone in Darwin is hanging out for the rains to come. But they are saying the monsoons won't come before Christmas. :(

We'd be quite happy for it to all go to Darwin Sally :)

message 15898: by Leonie (new)

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments We found a dent in our colour bond roof the size of a football. Our neighbours had smashed roller shutters, and hail that went through the tiles and straight through the ceiling. It was the loudest storm I've ever been in - mostly due to hail impacts.
