Good luck Julie!
Weather update - now 41 degrees here.

Well, that seems to have worked ok...thus far??? I wonder if they could put something like that into a capsule form for people? I reckon I could enjoy the benefits ;)

Thanks Leonie.
The outside temperature here seems to have subsided somewhat and is currently sitting at 37.6C.

Yes that's the one Kathryn, 8.1.1, I have had so much trouble with it slowing down and screen freezing...a real B***h when writing comments or reviews as they disappeared after re starting!...and like you lots of lttle things I didn't like.
So it all looks ok for the moment, after downloading the 8.1.1, though I won't really know until I use it a bit. Fingers are still Xd ;)
Our outside (in the patio) temp at the moment is 42.5! I just got the last of the washing off the line and the heat is blistering - it's very quiet outside, no-one out and about, none of the usual lawn mowers, whipper snippers even dogs barking! It's too hot for anything!

Stay cool and enjoy your Sunday arvo, everyone.

That is ridiculous! Has it been 40 or above for several days?? You all have my deepest sympathy in NSW - especially the firies - but please, don't let that weather come up here to QLD!!! We do not want it!!

Is that the advice you give to all the patients Marianne? Reading to take their mind off the pain?

I hope it starts to ease off soon...

We didn't get quite so hot here closer to Sydney, about 36C and it's cooling down rapidly with a bit of breeze around. My son went to the beach and said it was foggy and felt really weird.

Sadly, ours is for 40...

Haven't moved much Carolyn;) It's clouding over now and the temp has dropped a little (38c)...still too hot though! It's saying 28c for tomorrow, so we will see...

Don't you love the buzz that gets around town in holiday season though, then I know it wheres thin but there is a buzz at the start.
We're in the midst of a violent thunderstorm at the moment - the rain has just started. Lost the air con for a bit, but flicked the switch outside and it came back on...

It's really violent! I can hear an alarm going off somewhere nearby and one of our outside blinds has collapsed! Nothing we can do at the moment...

All handy Michael, and no, she most definitely is not!

A piece of fence is resting across our back fence/neighbour's fence and our roof! It's not from our fence so we're not sure where it came from. Water in the garage, patio roof is leaking! Tree in our back yard near the garden shed has a limb broken off - it's not big fortunately....
Holy moley - haven't seen one like that in awhile!!

What a shame you didn't get the rain Leonie! We probably got your share too...

That's amazing! It was the flash flooding type here!

Wow, that sounds like a really violent storm Brenda! Hope it's cooler now and the weather settles down tomorrow.

while I was shopping in W'gong, the rain came down and the steam went up, but by the time I got to Thirroul, roads still dry. Just now we're having the gods moving furniture, it's much cooler (24C) and I'm glad I hung Mum's washing in the garage, roads quite wet.

A couple of days ago we found our friendly green tree frog swimming in our dogs' water bucket after a hot day.
10,000 homes without power in the Lake Macquarie area (which is mine) but fortunately we didn't lose it!

I would like a little bit of your storm to come my way. We are cooler but still dry.
Hope your damage is just minor when you get to have a good look at it.

I'm one of those people too - just to family though, most of my close friends know what's happening anyway. Next Sunday is the big Christmas card writing day - sending them all on December 1st which is the traditional start to my Christmas.
Having said that, I put my tree up today as Little Lily gets back next Sunday - so I wanted to enjoy my tree before she sees it :)

Have you gone outside to inspect the damage Brenda?"

A pie..."
Oh no Brenda! I nearly thought I'd need to recommend a fencer we know in your area but glad it's not needed. (It's my hubbies trade). We experienced 40+ degrees and my mum said 46.6 at Barrington!!

Ooooh fireworks? What were they for?

Good work, Brenda. I've seen Malla interviewed for about 1/2hr on Foxtel. She's really interesting and seems like a lovely person.
