You'll do it one day Suzanne...I didn't when the kids were young either! Definitely no time then:)

Thankfully we haven't had a storm tonight...

We picked up some when we flew back from Europe last year. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them in duty free. Bought a block for me and one for our chocoholic daughter. Wasn't the best chocolate I've ever tasted but certainly was an experience :)

Hahaha! Cool :) I saw like 3 or 4 flavours I think..I picked up an Orange and plain.

It's cool if you've got problems with having reg milk chocolate...My Mum can't have cows milk SO I'm always on the look for something different but she now loves 90% dark. We tried 100% and that was terrible..blegh. Lindt thankfully bought over the 90% from Europe this year like a month or so after I got back..Otherwise I was gunna have to post some blocks back to her next year! lol

I have found occasionally it runs around in circles for ages and doesn't do anything, Leonie. Other times it cones up instantly.

That's excellent news Phrynne. It wasn't tipped as the favourite was it?

We even had a storm here in Darwin overnight - our first for the year!!!

Not that I heard it, I went to see the doctor late yesterday afternoon about a cyst on my back that has been there for years - but it felt a bit sore. he had it whipped out then and there as he said it was infected and could lead to nasty side-effects. I now have a 3 inch hole in my back (stitched up hole) and I was given a strong pain killer to help me sleep last night. Which I did!!! Bit oochy still this morning but ***sigh*** not enough to justify a day off work so here I am :) Panadol helps!! It will be a day at the desk I think instead of running around :)

message 14514: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 3569 comments Grr - these new updates!!! I finally downloaded the latest iOS update for my iPad - and I hate it!!! Now my different tabs aren't immediately visible in Safari (granted, it's not a huge effort to make them appear, but I didn't have to do anything special before!) and now often when I open a new GR tab it has the GR app icon up the top, inviting me to open it! No thank you, or I'd already be IN the app and not Safari!!!

OK, rant over, on with the day! Hope no one living in Sydney had too much damage to deal with this morning :-)

Definitely don't bother - not worth it! But maybe it will just take some time to get used to... I wonder what happens if you don't download a particular update and then another update comes along? Are you eventually forced to do an update? And it's so annoying that until you download an update you don't know what you're in for - and once you do know, you can't go back!!

Missing some bad weather here - thunder and lightning, heavy rain and snow in the Blue Mountains! In October! This time last year they were having those tragic bushfires!

My son Max and I did have a good laugh afterwards. It was the business like way the cats just sat and watched us chase the mouse around the room for a while with the broom and then one just jumped in and did the deed. Cracked us up!

Glad it gave you all a good laugh!

I still shudder to think what would have happened if it had run under the bedclothes instead of across the pillows. Ugh!!

We once went to pick up a colleague of my husband's from overseas (who we'd met before on his own) to take he and his wife for a drive and he introduced the woman with him as his 'first wife'. I was a bit stumped for a response ("Oh how nice that you still travel together" or "Couldn't your second wife get away?") until he said I've only had one wife!

She seemed to be used to it! He is a bit of a joker and they have been married over 20y. She is a lovely, long suffering wife but it made me uncomfortable for a few seconds as I didn't know him that well.

I can relate to that Laura, as much as my phone obviously is very very handy, I went to a playgroup a few months ago having done it many times before years ago (I have a 13, 11, 10, and 2yo) and more than one of the women were constantly on their phones. I was appalled and embarrassed. The leader of the group was trying to suggest not to but it had zero effect. Times have changed and I don't care how much I sound like my parents. It's true.

message 14550: by Neko (new)

Neko That's a shame especially when playgroup is an ideal place to meet other people with children of the same age..And if you interrupt people playing on their phones it feels like you're in the wrong when really I think the person constantly fiddling on their phone is especially in a group setting.

There are now holiday places making up packages for people to 'switch off' from tech...It's sad that companies are cashing in on such a problem. Don't get me wrong like you I think they are very handy to but they have a place and time.

I've grumbled at people about it before and I'm guessing it won't be the last time either.
