I wish my Mum was around too Dale - we just raised a glass to Mum today - it's the 8 year anniversary of her passing. It seems such a long time ago, but it seems like only last year...strange; but I still miss her terribly:(

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments reporting back on last night's dinner:
nice decor although the wooden floors (beautiful) and lack of tablecloths might mean it would get noisy if the place was full.
Service was quick.
Hubby had entree DUCK LIVER PATE - 14
SERVED WITH A ROSEMARY INFUSED CRUSTED SOURDOUGH AND GHERKIN.
and main SESAME CRUSTED YELLOW FIN TUNA – 34 [GF]
WITH A PEA PUREE, ROASTED CHAT POTATOES AND FINISHED WITH A WALNUT, PAPRIKA RED WINE ACID REDUCTION.
I had main MOROCCAN SPICED SWORDFISH – 34 [GF]
PAN FRIED SWORDFISH, ROAST CHAT POTATOES, BRAISED VEGETABLES, CHICKPEAS AND TOPPED WITH A SPICY YOGHURT DRESSING.
and dessert NUTELLA GANACHE TART – 15
SHORT CRUST PASTRY FILLED WITH NUTELLA, SERVED WITH LEMON CURD AND VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM.
(sorry about all the CAPS, copied & pasted from website menu) all very nicely presented, generous serves, and quite delicious.
We will go there again.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments Look, I'm chatting here to you people when I really need to be
a) throwing a few things in a bag for a long weekend away in faraway Coogee (reunion with some Uni friends, we did the same thing 3 years ago and had such a lovely time we decided to repeat it)
b) write my review for The Imperfectionists The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman
c) get dinner ready (= put frozen Pea&ham soup into pan to heat up, get bread out of freezer for toast)
d)read some more of my current read Bad Behaviour by Liz Byrski
so c'mon, stop distracting me....

Neko Does anyone know how to get all the threads on a group as READ without clicking on them all individually to get rid of (xx new)?

message 14368: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 90 comments Laura wrote: "Does anyone know how to get all the threads on a group as READ without clicking on them all individually to get rid of (xx new)?"

On the front main page for each group there is a bar that has Discussion Board written on the Left Hand side and on the Right hand side there 4 words; Topics All New Unread.
Click on unread and it will bring up all the unread by you threads. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and there are the words 'mark all read' - click on this and all the unread threads will no longer be marked in bright red

message 14369: by Neko (new)

Neko Oh awesome! I saw the unread thing n clicked on it and even scrolled to bottom of the page but didn't see it. Thanks muchly, sally!! :D

Dale Harcombe | 6962 comments Marianne wrote: "@ Dale check out post no 17043 new restaurant in Thirroul do you ever get down/up this way?"

We were up at Thirroul with family on Sunday arvo for an afternoon picnic, in that big park area near the pool. Not often we can get all family together on a Sunday and its sort of a half way place between here and Sydney so have done it a few other times. Packed to the hilt of course being such a hot day but we still found a shady tree to play under and kids had a ball on flying fox, scooters and park. A family time like that is usually the only time we get up your way, Marianne. Thanks for the info about the restaurant though, bit far for us for dinner.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Just spent about 20 minutes on desk listening to a poor bloke bitch about Centrelink. Lady I'm on with was like "I was gonna rescue you".

Little does she know that I could spent days bitching about Centrelink.

Sally906 | 90 comments Using a precious rec day today. An Optus technician is suppose to be coming at some stage so someone needed to stay home!!

They haven't come yet, but I've done two loads of washing - hung it out - brought it in and folded it. Cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed the house, dusted and had the TV turned to the cooking channel all day.

I don't even have to cook tea tonight as a girlfriend has invited us over for a roast pork dinner!!!

So chores done - time for feet up with a book!!

message 14381: by Neko (new)

Neko Hope that Optus person arrives soon Sally! Nothing worse than waiting on ppl to turn up to your house to fix something.

Enjoy your dinner out too!! :)

I'm about to do some reading myself before I start cooking tonight's meal...chicken,mustard with sweet potato n caramelized onion...mmm
