Same to you Bette!
Still raining here, mum's washing will have to hang in the garage.....
I wonder what delights the post box might yield this morning? Hopefully not too many window envelopes and maybe a book-shaped parcel!

message 13432: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4439 comments I feel sad as I tried to attend my daughters combined primary schools book forum that was organised by WestWords, they were discussing some great books. My 2yo was making a teeny bit of noise, I'm always very aware and take him outside, but it wasn't working and I went home. The schools made a 'trailer' related to their books, and answered questions. So I feel like I was bad mum today, not there supporting my daughter, who is the school captain. Lucky she's easy going and used to me not always being there.. Her school was presenting The Silver Button by Bob Graham it's a great book from what I saw.

Not fun at all. Half day for one of my teachers so I have to take over! The rain is bucketing down so the children are inside all day. Even less fun:(

And you know they're gonna be crawling over eachother to get outside as well.

Kids never want to go outside when it's nice - when it's bucketing down they're all "Why can't we go outside!?"

I am sure you are not a bad mum.

It must be hard with 4 kids, and one still being a toddler. You do the best you can, and you left out of respect for the everyone else, which is a thoughtful thing to do. I am sure if you explain that to your daughter she will understand.

I'm sure you're a better mum than you realise,Suzanne. Sounds like you've done a good job so far with your primary-school-aged daughter, anyway - I'm not sure I even thought to thank my mum when she came to my high school assemblies! And congratulations to your daughter on the effort she put in and the Dymocks voucher she was rewarded with! Hope she has fun spending it!

You know what, when I was at school (now that's a LOOOONG time ago!!), my mum didn't come to anything. She would have had to walk or take the bus, I never expected her to come. Never thought she was a bad Mum. Kids understand what's doable and reasonable, more than we think they might.

message 13450: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4439 comments Thank you guys.. sometimes I need a bit of a pick me up and often I get that from here. I think my daughter wants to pick up the first in the Divergent Series, so that's something different for her, and also means she's growing up, no more easy books! John, you owned a book shop, what were 11 year olds buying then? Your daughter that liked to read would have been in heaven.
