Wow 10° is a heat wave at the moment :) We had a temp of only 4° yesterday. Hoping it's warmer today but not likely. Currently it's 3.7° but only feels like -0.4° o.O

RIP Robin Williams. A tragic loss. Depression is such an insidious disease.

message 13312: by Suz (new)

Suz | 4439 comments Listening to old radio interviews of Robin Willuams. I agree with you Brenda - depression is terrible. Quite a somber morning.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Woke up this morning late for TAFE and then mum dropped that on me.

Worst morning ever.

Sally906 | 90 comments Someone mentioned it at work. We were all shocked. The youngest person is 22 and the oldest is 63. All of us loved him. Not many celebrities who can attract everyone.

Depression is insidious. Please, please, please seek help if you are feeling unrelentingly sad.

message 13318: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Very moved, floored and saddened by the news of Robin Williams' death. The world is indeed less without him and much, much less funny.

The guy who gave us the words 'nanu nanu', 'shazbot' and 'good morning, vietnam' has left a huge, huge void.

Yes, was only watching a film with her in it the other night. I wonder if we will now get a Lauren Bacall film fest on TV. I would watch it.

message 13326: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9871 comments Some of us older folk at work were talking about Lauren Bacall yesterday and were surprised that none of the younger people (in their 20s & 30s) knew who she was and even more surprised that they hadn't heard of Humphrey Bogart or the movie Casablanca.

Maybe it is time for a Lauren Baccall (& Humphrey Bogart) film fest!

I know Lauren B. Wasn't in it, but I loved "The African Queen" with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn....another terrific actress of the time.

Yes we have some really nice days even in the middle of winter. It can get cold sometimes though. And if you go to the Blue Mountains be prepared for anything!

You will need warm clothes for both the blue mountains and wisemans ferry. It's bitterly cold in the evenings and early mornings there

The kindle is very much easier to read in bed than the big heavy books:) But I do read both...seeing as I used to ONLY read print books, I'm used to it;) I couldn't NOT read in bed!! It's part of my bedtime routine;)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) So Robin Williams was apparently suffering from the early symptoms of Parkinsons Disease. :(

In other news got a call from City of Marion today about a job at their library system. Hopefully I can do it in addition to my Onka Libraries job...
