Chat about whatever you like: the weather, good stuff, bad stuff, family or pets!

Friday must have been D for Dentist day; I made an appointment for a filling and a clean. Might be taking the step of getting veneers soon; ouch, that will hurt my hip pocket:P

Veronica and Dale, this guy was awesome. If you ever get a chance to see him his name is Damian Mullin. He can actually sing and sounds a lot like Elvis...."
Elaine, #are you lonesome tonight...# Actually, we missed his anniversary; 37 years without the King on August 16th:(

Pharmacist at the hospital, start at 8, but I like to get a decent walk in before I go to work. I only work 5 days a fortnight, so on the days I'm not working, I have time to break occasionally & chat here

before I had the treadmill, I used to walk to Scarborough. Of course, part of the time, it was too dark to read, and in some weathers it was downright unpleasant, so with that regard, the treadmill is much better.

Have a fab weekend, GRers!

you need a treadmill for 2

Sleeping better is a very valid excuse for not being an EB

My big dream is to go to Parkes for the Elvis weekend. I'll make it one day.

Me too Veronica. That would be awesome. There's also the Blue Mountains Elvis festival that happens in Katoomba in August. I think the Parkes one takes place in January.
I just came back from seeing The Hundred-Foot Journey at the cinema. It was very much a feel good movie. Very sweet and funny. Definitely worth going to see!

Rained on and off all the way home though, which makes driving a bit tiring. It was just over 500km for the round trip.

Wow, that's devotion Leonie! Sounds like it was worthwhile. What instrument does your youngest play?
Leonie wrote: "Have just arrived home from Sydney. Did a quick trip down and back to see the youngest perform in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Symphony Orchestra. It was a lovely program.

Glad you're home safely Leonie! It is tiring when it's raining - a more indepth concentration needed! Glad you enjoyed his performance again:)

He's a percussionist, Carolyn - has many types of sticks to hit things with :) Today he was playing a huge gong, a guiro, a tom, a shaker and a massive bass drum. That's the thing with percussionists - they play way too many things - and nearly all of them are quite noisy!
I have become rather fond of the marimba and the rumbling tones of the bass drum though.

Love drumming - especially those huge Japanese drums which are bigger than their players!

Sounds like he has the best job in the Orchestra with all those different instruments to play. There must be a lot of study and practice involved to become good at all of them. I love the marimba too, it has such lovely tones.

It's well worth doing, Sally, and even more fun if there's someone you know in the orchestra.
I really enjoy listening to orchestras of all kinds. The con's a good place to go - you get a quality concert for $20. It's worth having a look at their program of performances if you're in Sydney and looking for something to do :)

Yessssss! Enjoyed every minute of it! They played beautifully and the crowd was incredible. That chant at the end was one of the loudest things Ive heard :D

Ugh I went to the Sydney game with a friend whos a diehard crows supporter. Should have taken him to this one :)

Sounds like you're in for a great day :) Enjoy.

Sounds wonderful :)

Have fun Marianne:)

I hope all is well in your world. Wish I could bottle some of those extra zzz's for you.

Have fun ..."
@ Brenda, Sally & Julie, Thanks, we had a lovely day!

What delightful prospects you have there Marianne! Enjoy!! :D

Late :P

It is a lot of fun sorting books on cyber shelves and before you know it the afternoons gone

We were woken at 4.40 am by the recycle man trying to navigate his huge truck in the dark, around our very small avenue before anyone had left for work..so lots of cars and bins everywhere and of course he got stuck turning!!! So it was BeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeep stall, then more BeepBeeps for15minutes. I think he managed a 16 point turn poor feller, and one by one all the house lights were coming on as people woke! Not happy Jan!!

We were sitting right behind the northern goals, amongst the Carlton cheer squad. Incredibly quiet down there :P
