B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) A gorgeous clip. If you don't say "awww" in this, I'd be worried:P

That is a very cute clip! Why are baby animals so cute? And yes, I did say "awww." :)

Well, this afternoon I fly out to Melbourned, to participate in Continuum X. Should be lots of fun, but I'm a little nervous about my first panel participations. At least I get to participate in one before I moderate the second! Am still deciding on which piece of reading I'll do though.

Lots of really interesting panels to sit in on, and hopefully some new authors to meet, friends to make, and a cousin to catch up with.

Might be a bit sketchy on popping in to Goodreads - probably depends how much sleep I want to get.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) It is SO cute, isn't it? I love the mother cat hugging her baby to her as if to say "shush, you're disturbing my sleep".

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) After getting a call roughly every week from those Windows scammers, I might have fixed them. Yesterday when they called, I said "Can you please call me back on my other number?" and gave them the Warrnambool Police station direct line.

:P

Geoff Woodland | 313 comments We had a spate of theses calls and I managed to keep them talking for about 6 or 7 minutes (without access to my system) and when they get a little upset (because I told them that I am hard of hearing kept them repeating everything - I'm not hard of hearing) I tell them that I don't have Windows, but an Apple - that's when they hang up.

I tell them we don't have a single computer in the house (a total lie of course - we have at least 6). There's always a long pause while they think of what to say to that and then they hang up!

Good job Bette, well done, bet they hung up very quickly.Just had another scam happen to me. My husband and I put something on Gumtree, I received a email from someone saying they work for NZ Gas and Electricity, they work offshore, they were very happy with the product that I wanted to sell and would give me the money straight away, if they could just have my bank details they then send you an email from paypal (false of course) saying they have paid, in the meantime you have no money left in your account.Very scary. I was lucky my husband knew about this sort of scam.

Sally906 | 90 comments I started yelling scammer, scammer, scammer down the phone then hang up. They only did it once!

Our dinner guests were most surprised :)

A friend of mine just puts the phone down - not hanging up just down. She goes back later and there is a dial tone. She says they have to pay for the call but wonders how long before they do realise she's not there.

Haha, I used to do that Sally after an overseas rellie had a blue with my hubby and he started making abusive phone calls at all hours. I was working night shift at the time and he knew I slept through the day so he started calling me every day! He just kept ringing even when I didn't answer, so I would put the phone in the linen cabinet and shut the door on it and go back to sleep. That went on for another couple of weeks and then stopped suddenly...I think he must have got the bill...hehee, international calls too!!

I shut it in the cabinet so he couldn't hear any sounds from my place.

Faye, I don't tell them it's the police number; I just give it to them so that when they ring there, they get a big surprise.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9989 comments some weeks back I posted here about my dying blender and what I was looking at buying to replace it. Did some online research, looked in the shops, ended up buying a big fancy strong one, lots of power, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, etc. (Actually the online video clip shows it grinding pebbles to powder so....) Well, I've had it for over a month now, it's excellent for my daily smoothies, also for turning whatever soup into cream of whatever soup. And before the 30 day money-back trial ended, I was determined to try making a nut butter. Tried dry roasted almonds a few weeks ago, worked very well. Today I got more adventurous: almonds with some honey, almonds with chocolate, mixed nuts, and peanuts. I'm very happy with the results. Guess I need to go leave some positive feedback on their site.....

The lights are well worth the trip. I went Thursday night with my two daughters and mother. We booked a motel in the city this year after taking two hours to get home last year. It was raining so by 10pm we virtually had all the lights to ourselves. It was great! We are already planning next year!

There are certainly a lot of scammers on Gumtree. I don't see how they can access your funds though with only your name and bank account no.

b) I *can* park
c) I *can* do a three point turn.

Am I proud of myself?
