It is very liberating! It's completely altered my self-image as well as my outlook on life. Did you learn as a more mature person?

Congratulations and well done, Margaret. You have inspired cause even though I have my license I haven't driven for over 7 years as I've lost my confidence.

Sharon, I'd never tried to learn. And the first time I sat behind the wheel almost four months ago, I felt more than daunted. But confidence comes when you see and acknowledge that you *can* do it. :)

No Margaret I learnt when I was in my late teens but I remember it was BIG for me, it gave me so much confidence which I was so lacking in at the time...it really made me believe in myself, and I still love driving. I would feel totally adrift without it.
It's no small feat that you have done this now, so kudos to you Margaret, you should be very proud :)
New seats! Mum picked up two of those big, old cane swivel-seats from Savers, $25 each.

Just back from Continuum (arrived home at 2am last night) - much fun, many lovely people, and I'll write a bit more about it on my blog when my brain decides to kick back in. Got to sit on two panels with one guest of honour, (Ambelin Kwaymullina) and one with the other one (Jim C. Hines - and did my reading sitting next to Jack Dann (Was slightly nerve wracking...) and Ambelin Kwaymullina!

I agree, expensive, but I don't go out much, so these are my treats, and I love Karin Slaughter's books, so that will be a thrill!

Congratulations Margaret! You should be very proud of yourself too. It's a very liberating accomplishment isn't it? I rate it right up there as one of the biggest favours I ever did for myself...and still love driving.
