Margaret Sharp (margaretlynettesharp) | 1215 comments I hate to complain but today I've been bitten by something (almost certainly a white-tailed spider), and if that's not enough I've just discovered that someone has rated one of my titles at two stars on Goodreads. Thing is, this title hasn't sold a copy in over four months, and the rater has rated over twenty thousand titles, average being 1.98 stars. Any thoughts?

Have a great time visiting my home country. Although I am from one of those states you will be flying over between the coasts:-) This is a great time of the year to visit the East Coast. Hope you enjoy it!

South West Rocks is awesome. Releasing their ashes into the water makes you feel like the person is really peaceful, doesn't it?

I love the northern part of NSW coast; really beautiful.

Hope you're feeling better soon Margaret with the bite and also about the review. Just remember we can't please all the people all the time and even some great books get negative reviews by some people. Still hurts though. Thinking of you.

Thanks, Dale. :)
The bite is itchy, and there's a large reddish raised area, but I think it's starting to fade. In the past few months a few of my friends have also been bitten.

message 9216: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6949 comments My daughter was bitten once while in bed asleep. Sneaky little pests. It was sore for a while but healed okay. Spider bits are painful. I was bitten inside my dress by a spider while watering the garden one time. It must have fallen inside my clothes as I brushed against a bush. We had no idea what sort it was. But I didn't die, so guess it wasn't serious. LOL No wonder I'm not gardener. All the best.

White-tips are little wankers, they're well known to hide inside bedsheets and bite you when you go to bed.

I think I saw a statistic somewhere that nobody has died from a spider bite in Australia since 198-something? These days its mainly people flipping their sunvisor down in the car and having a spider land on their face, causing them to crash :P

I just bought my brother a Kindle for his birthday (greatest sister ever right?!) I was just wondering if any one had any recommendations of some books I could put on there to get him started.

He is 26 and the books I know he has read and liked are
The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit
The Night Angel Trilogy
Some books by Philip K. Dick not sure which ones he has read
and Piers Anthonys series Incarnations of Immortality.

Any one have any ideas?

I have just had the most amazing afternoon! I went to Jaye Ford's launch of Blood Secret - there would have been at least 50 people there, and at least half of them were authors!!! I couldn't take the smile off my face! What a total honour to be there.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Ice Station and Seven Ancient Wonders are the starts of his two series, Contest and Temple are standalone.

I'd say Contest if he's into sci-fi, otherwise Ice Station.
