How do you survive without air con Emily?? That was the first thing we installed in this house when we moved in over 12 years ago!

message 6965: by Emily (new)

Wet towels, little movement and a fan which I reassemble at the first sign of summer.

It's ghastly isn't it!! Heat and humidity (and me) don't mix!!!! It was the same here Michael, and it's going to be 40+ tomorrow, with higher on the weekend:(

I know...horrible! I think we'll hibernate with the air con, and won't move...lol They're talking about the electricity suppliers maybe not being able to meet demand with all the air conditioners that will be running!!! :(

Faye (lastchapter) | 409 comments Trust me it was bad Jessy, I had the fans going and still could not get comfortable. Just make sure that you look after your animals/pets unfortunately my friend lost her beautiful dog on Thursday, she had a heart attack due to the stress of the heat. She had plenty of water etc however, it was not enough.

message 6983: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments I am, barely, surviving the heat so far. No air-con in my house so I think I'm going to have to part with the dollars and get some before it gets much worse. I had been planning on a dishwasher but right now I'd rather have some air-con :)

Wishing I was with Zoey in Tassie ;)

I just want to let everyone know, while I can actually use this thread as well, that some of our threads are down within Aussie Readers. It's actually a bug, which is affecting GR world wide, and the PTB are working on it, have been all day, and yesterday, to fix it. When you click on a thread, it sometimes comes up with

Jessy (snuggleglooms) | 381 comments The weather is pretty normal up here in Cairns for this time of year. Warm and humid at times. Today is going to be the warmest we have had thus far at 33 but its all good it's part of the wet season although it hasn't been real wet so far.

Today is very overcast, with a stiff breeze that will get stronger I think. It is cooler by far, but still humid in the house. I've got everything open to hopefully cool things down. We're due for more thunderstorms too, they say...

message 6991: by Jessy (new)

Jessy (snuggleglooms) | 381 comments Will keep my fingers crossed that the thunderstorms just cool you down and don't do any damage Brenda!!!

Thanks Jessy...we need the rain badly. It rained overnight, but not very much...the garden is very thirsty:)

message 6993: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments I try to not even think about my garden any more. Between the severe drought and the super hot temps it resembles a desert with one or two plants trying valiantly to survive.

Just trying to stay cool :)
