Hi Rachelccameron: Sam and I discussed the use of this book for this task and we both felt that the book didn't fit the intent of the task. This book is a true crime story that happens to be set on a farm. It's not about life on a farm.
I'm going to disallow the book for this task. But the good news is that it will work for either task 20.7, or 20.8.
If you want to take a look at Message 126 to see how Colleen scored it using Task 20.8 that might be helpful for you. Please add a new post with the task number and assoicated points when you've decided how you'd like to use this book.

I think that this book ought to be +5 Combo for 10.6, memoir about the author's career/profession, as it is about Douglass' life as a slave and then as an orator/abolitionist -- the first is a 'profession' given to him by birth, and the second one that he received along with freedom. I'll leave that combo up to the scorekeeper's discretion though.

Per Sam's guidelines you need to declare what type of traveler you are when you post the first book.
(Excerpted from the RtT Guidelines: "3) Once you have completed you first Reading through Time task, you must designate yourself a "Constant Traveler" or a "Time Leaper".
