Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I enjoyed the first 6 or 7 Sookie books. The more the series goes, the sillier it gets though

Jennie, I've read the first and wasn't too impressed but remember thinking I would continue the series. I might give that one a re-read and see if my rating last time was more about mood... when did you want to start it?

message 213: by Jennie (last edited Feb 05, 2013 11:50AM) (new)

Jennie | 79 comments @ CaroB, I don't really know, when ever you are ready...LOL I have never really done this before, but it looked like fun to read and talk to some one as you go!!

Al so I thought it might help slow me down, when I start a new book, I tend to just sit down and read it all, and well my house turns in to a mess around me and get really angry at everyone when I get disturbed, not really fair on my kids and husband.

We've decided to skip #10 in the Cynster series for now. We want to read chronologically and book 10 is 10 years in the future and book 11 goes back to where 9 left off. So, long story short, we're reading 11 next month LOL

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments What in the world is "semiotics," ShoSho? I guess I'll have to Google it.

message 243: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (last edited Aug 01, 2013 04:37PM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments From Wiki: Semiotics, also called semiotic studies and including (in the Saussurean tradition) semiology, is the study of signs and sign processes (semiosis), indication, designation, likeness, analogy, metaphor, symbolism, signification, and communication. Semiotics is closely related to the field of linguistics, which, for its part, studies the structure and meaning of language more specifically. However, as different from linguistics, semiotics also studies non-linguistic sign systems.
