Cheryl (cawils_99) Hey guys I have my copy of Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger from the library and I would love to do a buddy read. Is anyone interested in starting this one soon?

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm interested. Where to fit it in! LOL!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments What other "buddy reads" are you doing, Cheryl?

message 55: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I'd also be interested Cheryl. How soon are you looking to get to it?

message 56: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cawils_99) I'm not currently involved in any buddy reads. I was unable to get ahold of the books to start.
I will hold on to this copy so let me know when you guys are available to start. The fifth in the series comes out in April 2012.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments NBRC group, CaroB. There is talk of it in the Blameless (The Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger "buddy read." I'll set up it's own thread under the author's name. Just give me a minute.

message 61: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Sorry, they re-vamped things over there. It will actually be under the Authors; A - D > thread... Carriger, Gail

Lina | 5563 comments I'm looking for buddies to read any of the following books with me in April:

I'm wanting to do a buddy read for the new Julie James book, About That Night (FBI, # 3) by Julie James

Also, The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley by Susanna Kearsley and Me Before You by Jojo Moyes by Jojo Moyes.

Anyone interested in joining me?

message 72: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Caro, I have both of those and would love to buddy read them with you. Anytime is good for me, since I'm only involved in 2 br's next month...and I think you're reading both of them as well LOL

Lina | 5563 comments Excellent Susan!

message 74: by ~Megan~ (new)

Lina | 5563 comments woohoo! Have you ladies read the first two in the FBI series?

message 77: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I need to give JJ another go. Do I need to read the first two in the FBI series to read that one, CaroB?

message 78: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I've read the first one and have the second one to read this weekend while I'm at Hub's apartment.

message 79: by Heather (new)

Heather (messybar) | 1307 comments I have read the previous 2 and enjoyed them!

message 80: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) I loved the previous 2! I would recommend reading them first, Lisa Kay. But I'm kind of anal about that kind of thing LOL!

message 81: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I don't think you need to, Lisa Kay. #1 was much better than #2, IMO, but I get a kick out of seeing characters revisited. I have both on PDF if you need.

message 82: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Susan, which two?

message 83: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Which 2 do I have to read? The Julie James and Susanna kearsley ones :)

message 86: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Thanks, Bobbie! Did you mean to post this in the "freebie" thread, or are you wanting someone to read this with you as a "buddy read"?

message 87: by Lina (last edited Sep 19, 2012 06:17PM) (new)

Lina | 5563 comments As some of you may know, I've been on a bit of a bender recently, reading a lot of contemporary romantic suspense... very glad I did it, it was wayyyyyy overdue, but now I need a palate cleanser. The only problem is, I don't know what to read next... I'm in the mood for a wacky paranormal or a lengthy erotica (no pun intended), and would love to do it as a buddy-read. Does anyone have any suggestions, or books from their TBR they'd like to bump up and read it with me?

I may post this in another thread also to see if anyone is interested...

message 88: by Gisela, Moderator (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Saw some christmas themed books at the store today. So I have to ask: Are there any holiday romances you'd be interested in reading as "buddy reads"?

message 89: by Gisela, Moderator (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments I've got my eye on:
North of Need (Hearts of the Anemoi, #1) by Laura Kaye and A Virgin River Christmas (Virgin River, #4) by Robyn Carr

message 90: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I've been meaning to get to start the Virgin River series, so the christmas one would give me a good incentive!

message 91: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I want to get What Happens At Christmas by Victoria Alexander . I'd also like to read North of Need.

message 92: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I've started the Virgin River series. But haven't gotten to the Christmas one yet.

message 93: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I wouldn't mind reading the A Virgin River Christmas (Virgin River, #4) by Robyn Carr one. Is it okay to read it out of order? Does anyone know?

I don't know. Hayley would know. She's pretty far into the series.

message 95: by Robin (Saturndoo) (last edited Nov 01, 2012 02:53PM) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Any of the Virgin River series can be read out of order/as stand alones is what I've been told. ☺

ETA: Someone else in one of my other groups was asking the same question about this same book...today I think or maybe it was yesterday LOL

message 96: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) Virgin River Christmas especially can be read out of order. There is only a little interaction with the town.

message 97: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments thanks for the info Robin and Megan!

message 98: by Gisela, Moderator (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Oooh thanks! So when do we want to read A Virgin River Christmas (Virgin River, #4) by Robyn Carr ?

message 99: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Whenever is good for me!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Sometime in December is good for me. Got it in paperback this morning when I took my computer in to be repaired. Alas, it is beyond hope; I have to get a new one. Luckily, I went to the bookstore and purchased books before I found out I should NOT be spending my money there. No, no. Don't tell me to return my books! Eep!
