I've heard that she narrates the audio version of Bossypants herself and it is really good.

I nominated Finnikin of the Rock for the March BOM because I'm interested to see her write in a different genre. If it doesn't win I'll be getting it from the library on audi..."
I'm hoping to read that one soon too. I got it for Christmas. :)
@Sarah - I think her narration of that book would make it awesome. Enjoy!
@Kristie & Nicole - ok let's make a pact that if Finnikjn of the Rock doesn't win BOM we will do a BR :)
@Nicole - yes! P.Gregory is on for mid march. Link is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do in this thread. I would like to list my latest checkouts and requests from my local library. These are currently checked out:

This book is on my request list:

Jim

Sounds good. I'll probably be reading it towards the end of March because I have so many obligations, but this will push me to actually do it. :)

Ah. I'll eventually get to that one RebeccaS!
Kristie & Nicole - Yes end of March works. I'll wait until the poll closes for BOM just in case it wins before setting up a thread

I'm overextended again too. I do it all the time. I keep telling myself that I won't do that, but then all the books look so good!

Sounds good, Karen!
I'm interested in that Rth Ozeki book too!
I have
due to a great review in the paper and I love debut novels that are able to get some press
devouring it just like I did the first book
for our BOM
Love this guy. although this is the large print edition so the book looks very intimidating! I'm hoping to atleast start it before it is due back ;)

I picked up
on audio which I am loving. WWI occupied France is one of my favourite settings for Historical Fiction
and as paperbacks I got
which will be by second ever Stephen King assuming I don't get scared and stop reading it... haha
for an upcoming BOM I picked up
which I am quite looking forward to. It seems to be a while (atleast a month!) since I read dystopian YA ;)
and for an upcoming buddy read I got
which I have wanted to read for a very long time. So super excited about that one
oh and I checked out the ebook of
for our upcoming BOM which I can't use on my kindle (boo!) and none of my libraries stock a paperback version. Not sure if other Australian's are finding that too? My libraries only have it as an ebook via Overdrive

Joyland isn't really scary. It's more of a coming of age story with some paranormal parts.
I'm looking forward to Tell the Wolves I'm Home too and I can't wait for Orphan Train. I have no idea where I'm going to find the time to get to all of these books!
Currently, from the library I have:

and the paperback version of:

I had the rest of the books I wanted to read at home ;)

I've been listening to those on audio. My library only had the first three available though, so I had to get that one on Audible.

On the ebooks I am finishing up

@Kristie
The narrator for The Girl You Left Behind is very good. Just starting chapter 15 now so a few chapters in to modern times and I'm still enjoying it. I read some reviews that didn't like the change in POV, but I think the characters are just as interesting
Joyland is pretty thin so I'm hopeful I can get to it before I need to return it
Shame about Champion. I need to buy it on my Kindle, but it may not be until May that I can get to it
@Sarah
Interesting mix of books! You'll have to let us know if there are any stand outs

Karen - Champion is still good, it's just that the themes repeat from the other books and thins are restated frequently. For example (view spoiler) (Spoiler is for anyone that has not read book 2 in the series.) I'm still glad I'm reading it though.

@Karen, I loved The Girl You Left Behind and also read the prequelHoneymoon in Paris. I think you might like The Last Letter from Your Lover too.

Ah thanks Kristie. Yes I can imagine what you mean - some series books get caught up in too many re-caps
Thanks Renee ; I can get all her books on audio, so I will get to another one in a few weeks. I have One Foot in the Grave now, and then Anansi Boys. So maybe in 2 weeks I can get to another one :)

On hold:

Oh I hope you can get to it this time Kristie! ;)
Sarah - I imagine you will absolutely love The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It is one of my all-time favourites. I have the hard cover copy and lend it to everyone! Wool Omnibus is a good read too, although I enjoyed part 1 the most.
Wow kay - you are keen for that series then! I couldn't get past book 1 as I found it just too much of a Harry Potter copy, but I'm not the majority. Lots of people love it!

Trapped - Kevin Hearne
Deathless - Cathrynne Valente
Putting this list down here so I don't forget how much I want to read Deathless.

Nice mix there Sarah. I'm glad The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks has come in for you!
And don't forget Midnight Crossroad Nichole - It is a Manfred series!!

I don't suppose you know which Gaiman book we are reading this month, and where the thread is?
@Nichole
Oh, how come?
Yes, reading Fragile Things: Short Fictions and Wonders which I'm almost half way, but giving myself a break for a few days. That many Gaiman short stories is a little exhausting..lol

I dunno, Karen, I think I've just gone off the paranormal genre. And I don't find she writes it as well as others anyway.
I understand. I really liked Manfred's character which is why I'm interested in the book (and no more incest with any luck!!)
