The book, "Where Did My Sweet Grandma Go?: A Preschooler's Guide to Losing a Loved One," includes my watercolor paintings alongside my late mom's artwork.

Welcome, and congrats on fruition of you labors with this lovely, important book. Sounds like you've figured out how to enjoy the publishing journey. Self-pub, or traditional, neither one is a 'cakewalk', but stick with it-you'll be glad you did.
Sincerely,
Gail Hedrick

I am not sure I did the introduction part before I jumped into making comments. My name is Alicia Suárez Holt. I am a writer and a first grade teacher. Just last week, my first published children's book made it to market. I have been writing for almost 30 years sharing my poems, stories, and children's songs with my students. My students encouraged me to put my work out there, so they could check it out from the library or buy it. My book The Day Cappy Bear Got Lost has been received very well by my local community. I am looking forward to sharing beyond my local community. My book is on amazon.com.

Thanks-it's my second one, and was really interesting to write. You'd think a sequel would be easy-not!
Have a lovely Easter.

To begin, I'm Tonyna Breaux and I just recently released my book "Susie's New School" in February. It's a beginner juvenile fiction reader for children 3-10. I'm actually in the process of turning it into a series, "A Susie Series."
My book is about a young girl who struggles with bullying in her new school. I feel it's close to home to some children and mine suffered from the same thing when we moved from Louisiana to Texas. Ya'll go and check it out.... :)

It's nice meeting everyone here! Can't wait to learn more.

My name is Stanley. I am the author of Cinquains: Volume 1. It is available on Amazon in both print and Kindle editions. http://amzn.to/1Q1z6hr

I peeked at the sample from the book, and it looks to be a very goo read.
Welcome, and best of luck with sales!

Hello, I'm new to Goodreads this week and to this group! My husband and I are publishing our first in a series of children's reading and activity books "Bigfoot Trails: Pacific Northwest." The book will be available for pre-ordering on Amazon next week(ish) and is due out July 1. I have a great trailer on my author's profile page posted that gives you a good little preview.
We're definitely hoping to connect with readers, other authors and, more specifically, children's books authors, as we are brand new to this world and undoubtedly have a lot more to learn. Happy to be apart of the group!

My name is Linda Gondosch and I am a former teacher and the author of 11 children's books, all published by traditional publishing companies. I live in Kentucky and enjoy book fairs and school visits.
My latest book is the true story of the newest saint in the Catholic church, Saint Junipero Serra. He was the pioneer missionary who came from Spain in the 1700s and founded the first 9 missions along the California coast.

My name is Lieve Snellings. I live in Belgium, but about 4 to 5 months a year also in Quebec, Canada.
As a nature photographer I made two children photo books on the groundhog who lives in Château-Richer. The first one 'Margot gets an unexpected visit' is about the woodchuck meeting two little Belgian girls on vacation in Quebec. It is a surprising story about a surprising friendship. Amazing images with humour.
The good news is that this first book now also in translated into english. It is available as e-book, and sopewhere next month also in paperback.

I have been writing some stories for my kids...
I made one up for my son's 7th birthday and had a good friend make some illustrations.
If anyone is interested in reading let me know and I will send you a pdf.
Thanks!

I'm also doing a goodreads 'giveaway' (2 signed copies) - beginning 30th April.
By background is in teaching and like many others, just entering this group, I'm keen to learn from more experienced authors. I'm looking forward to beginning a terrifying journey into the unknown!

Hi,
Funny story, I have been writing romances (unpublished so far) for years and then I started working with children with learning disabilities and started writing children's books. The children I worked with struggled so much with their spelling words I decided to write stories each week using their spelling words. I used a dog named Bob and called it "The Adventures of Bob the Dog". The students loved it and asked each week when the next "Bob" book would be here! It encouraged the students to read and by the end of the school year they were writing simple book reports, often about Bob and the adventures he had in his last book. I am grateful to these children they opened up a whole new world of writing for me! This year I decided to publish them in Kindle.

Anyways, I am eager to speak to other authors and share thoughts, ideas, etc. I am honored to even be able to call myself an author, I respect everyone on here such an incredible amount. Knowing how much work really goes into any project, we all should be proud of ourselves, and support each other! Nice to meet you all, look forward to many discussions!

My name is Lauren, and I'm a young children's author/illustrator (though I consider myself more of an artist who writes) trying to get the hang of the craft. I just self-published my second picture book, Tip & Lulu: A tale of two friends (which is available on amazon, createspace, and soon kindle), last month, and I'm super excited to be back in the writers' loop!!
Hopefully I can get some insight from you "veterans" of the craft (and maybe share some of my own with you)!
Lauren :)

Looking forward to exploring your work! My name is Joe, and I'm a new children's book author. I specialize in books for boys aged 5-10, and I just finished my first 3.
I can't wait to learn from all the talented writers here!
Here are my books:
Ninja Seals!: Book 1: Night of the Mudskipper
Ninja Seals!: Book 2: The Metal Menace
Ninja Seals Book 3: Wacky Facts

I am starting a new book project (my first) but having issues on whether to make it a picture book or young reader. Anyway, looking forward to some well needed advice. Cheers!

I won the publishing lottery and managed to get a publisher for my first author illustrated book Hellie the Hovercraft Elephant http://amzn.to/2f4WK5S
But I'm not taking it easy I'm still on the streets doing the hard sell to smaller bookshops, reading at schools and libraries, making craft sets and character themed cookies. Would love to hear about other's experiences!
And maybe suggest an icon for the group? You can use this is you want... if you like it? xxx http://helliethehovercraftelephant.co...
