Peggy Coffey (megthered) Hello everyone! My name is Peggy and I am a johnny come lately to writing children"s books. My children are grown and gone and have children of their own. They always asked me to write down the stories I told them before bed so they could tell their own children. Well, my amazing daughter in law, an artist, and I are finally doing just that. We are an unusual team, according to some people, but it has been a fun and eye opening experience.

I am not sure I did the introduction part before I jumped into making comments. My name is Alicia Suárez Holt. I am a writer and a first grade teacher. Just last week, my first published children's book made it to market. I have been writing for almost 30 years sharing my poems, stories, and children's songs with my students. My students encouraged me to put my work out there, so they could check it out from the library or buy it. My book The Day Cappy Bear Got Lost has been received very well by my local community. I am looking forward to sharing beyond my local community. My book is on amazon.com.

Tonyna Breaux | 4 comments Wow, there are so many children's book authors. It's exciting.
To begin, I'm Tonyna Breaux and I just recently released my book "Susie's New School" in February. It's a beginner juvenile fiction reader for children 3-10. I'm actually in the process of turning it into a series, "A Susie Series."

My book is about a young girl who struggles with bullying in her new school. I feel it's close to home to some children and mine suffered from the same thing when we moved from Louisiana to Texas. Ya'll go and check it out.... :)

Hello, I'm new to Goodreads this week and to this group! My husband and I are publishing our first in a series of children's reading and activity books "Bigfoot Trails: Pacific Northwest." The book will be available for pre-ordering on Amazon next week(ish) and is due out July 1. I have a great trailer on my author's profile page posted that gives you a good little preview.

We're definitely hoping to connect with readers, other authors and, more specifically, children's books authors, as we are brand new to this world and undoubtedly have a lot more to learn. Happy to be apart of the group!

Lieve Snellings | 7 comments Hello all,
My name is Lieve Snellings. I live in Belgium, but about 4 to 5 months a year also in Quebec, Canada.

As a nature photographer I made two children photo books on the groundhog who lives in Château-Richer. The first one 'Margot gets an unexpected visit' is about the woodchuck meeting two little Belgian girls on vacation in Quebec. It is a surprising story about a surprising friendship. Amazing images with humour.

The good news is that this first book now also in translated into english. It is available as e-book, and sopewhere next month also in paperback.

Sarah Davies | 1 comments Hello all! It's so nice to see so many other writers of children's literature here. I've written my whole life, but only recently started doing it with purpose. I finally finished transcribing one of my children's stories--I used to tell it to my own children. I'm now in the process of creating the illustrations, and recently started a blog to journal my progress: https://chessiewriter.wordpress.com/ ) I plan to self-publish with CreateSpace (and avoid the inevitable rejections by publishers!)

Hi,
Funny story, I have been writing romances (unpublished so far) for years and then I started working with children with learning disabilities and started writing children's books. The children I worked with struggled so much with their spelling words I decided to write stories each week using their spelling words. I used a dog named Bob and called it "The Adventures of Bob the Dog". The students loved it and asked each week when the next "Bob" book would be here! It encouraged the students to read and by the end of the school year they were writing simple book reports, often about Bob and the adventures he had in his last book. I am grateful to these children they opened up a whole new world of writing for me! This year I decided to publish them in Kindle.

Jesse Howard | 1 comments Hello everyone! My name is Jesse Howard, and my brother and I (Kevin Howard) just published our first children's book, "Kookabuk Shares his Shovel". It is the first in a series of social stories, in which Kookabuk (who has Autism) and his best friend Emily (who is neurotypical) learn and play together. I am a special education teacher, and hope this book entertains and informs.

Anyways, I am eager to speak to other authors and share thoughts, ideas, etc. I am honored to even be able to call myself an author, I respect everyone on here such an incredible amount. Knowing how much work really goes into any project, we all should be proud of ourselves, and support each other! Nice to meet you all, look forward to many discussions!

Hopefully I can get some insight from you "veterans" of the craft (and maybe share some of my own with you)!
