I.L. Williams | 7 comments Hi Gail,

Thank you so much for your comment! I am entirely new to all this so any feedback helps. We are often blind to our own work after a time, so it is vital to get a reality-check.
So far, the process is a lot of fun. Steep learning curve, though. :)
Thanks again,
Ingrid

Justine Laismith (justinelaismith) | 4 comments Hello! Glad I found this group. I am currently writing a MG book, have been working on it for the past 3 years! It keeps getting longer and longer. I nearly gave up on it, until I found a publisher for my chapter book, that gave me the encouragement to carry on.

Looking forward to being part of the community.

Amir Makin | 2 comments Hi everyone!
I'm a new publisher of children's books designed to uplift the underserved and improve children's confidence and self esteem. I'm glad to be a part of this group. I am always open to exchanging reviews anytime.

ALM Molaison | 18 comments NGBKids is the collection of eBooks which will be sold to school and public libraries. We do not sell individual eBooks. I would welcome the opportunity to develop a selection of books from other countries. If you are offering one of your books for free to market yourself and you have an interest in introducing your work to the American children's audience, please contact me for more information.
I'm interested in eBooks under 3000 words suitable for students in our K-8 grades.

I.L. Williams | 7 comments Hi,

Thanks for sharing this here. It sounds like an interesting possibility. I just launched my e-book yesterday and am in the KDP program, and I am not sure your program is compatible with that. ???

If it is, I would LOVE to join in.

message 557: by ALM (new)

ALM Molaison | 18 comments Since we do not sell individual books, it would seem that donating your book to the collection would not violate the KDP rules.
Please email me with some additional deals on your book so that I can send you some additional information

Bonnie Ferrante (bonnieferrante) | 58 comments Hi, I'm Bonnie Ferrante, a hybrid author. My short stories, newspaper articles and columns, and novels have been published traditionally. I have begun simultaneously self-publishing novels and picture books and am doing my own illustrations. I received an Ontario Arts Council Writers Works in Progress grant to complete a YA paranormal historical which will be published by Tradewind Books in British Columbia. "Desiccate: Sphere of Vision Book One," my most recent YA book was completed with the support of an OAC Northern Arts grant. During the long cold winters of Thunder Bay, in Northern Ontario, I spend most of my time writing and drawing. Since developing Parkinson's Disease, I have switched from illustrating with acrylics and pencil crayon, to digital format. I was a grade school teacher for thirty-three years, ten of those as a teacher-librarian. I am a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist lay leader, which shows up in unexpected ways in my writing. Check out my writing on BonnieFerrante.ca which also lists other methods to connect. I ALSO HAVE A BLOG WHERE I REVIEW PICTURE BOOKS. http://steppingquietly.blogspot.ca/

Mike (mikebilleter) | 2 comments Hi,

My name's Mike Billeter and I'm currently getting ready to publish my first children's book. It's an adventure chapter book targeted toward 3rd-5th graders, and I'm excited to finally get it out of my mind and into the world.

I'm also working on a book chronicling the adventures my wife and I experienced while walking across America last year. That one is not yet complete (the children's book, on the other hand, is), but I'm hoping to have a finished draft before the end of the year.

I'm looking forward to engaging with this group more and learning from everyone on here. Seems like a fantastic, intelligent group from what I've seen and read so far.

Tracy | 1 comments Hi, my name is Tracy, and I just joined this group today. I'm currently working on a children's book and a graphic novel, both of which I am writing and illustrating. I used to have a daily comic called "Furballed." You can see those links here and here.
I'm looking forward to browsing this group, learning some new things, and so forth.

Cornelius Addison (addisonstales) | 1 comments Hello everyone,

I have released my first children's titles as ebooks and would like to hear what you all think of them. They are for children aged between 7-12. The sheet music from the tales can be found if you scroll around http://www.addisonstales.com/ to find little Vincent in his mousehole. Here at my cottage you can also find more characters who are patiently waiting for their story to be released. By late summer/autumn, the Addison's Tales digital book label will be launched with the help of app, audio book and print distributors - something that has taken nearly 6 years of work from many artistic people including musicians, animators, illustrators and a little old gardener from the town of Calladin (me). So, if any of you have children in this age group, or are in this age group yourself, please take a look at my author's page and post a review of a book of your choosing so that when Wivern Digital, an indi digital publishing house producing Addison's Tales, announces the label later this year, people will be able to see a review of selected tales around the net. You can even like their facebook page to follow how the 3D animation for the next production is coming along:

https://www.facebook.com/Wivern.Digit...

I'll give you a hint about the next story - it is about dreams and someone who makes them.

Many happy returns from the town of Calladin!

Emer Martin (emermartin) | 1 comments Greetings - I am a literary novelist who has just written a children's book on astronomy and am working with an illustrator. We are nearly complete and ready to hunt around for printing options for our book. Very exciting and daunting. I always went with big publishers for my adult books but this one involves setting up our own publisher Rawmeash and publishing independently. I'm delighted to join your group and looking forward to reading and reviewing other's work. I have put up a few short reviews of my favorite children's books. I love the illustrator Christina Balit and anything she is involved in.

Hi all, I'm Brian, an Australian author. I have written since school in the UK and made just as many if not more mistakes as anyone and still do. After writing many general and adult publications, I have just written a series of children's books and found this is an excellent thread, I found the posts, comments, and information both interesting and informative. A credit to the founders and moderators.

Roopa Weber | 6 comments This is Roopa Weber, Author of Messy Penny. www.messypenny.com
Messy Penny® is the first book of the series and focuses on how true beauty comes from the happiness in one’s heart. The main character, a lovable peacock, wakes up with excitement only to be disappointed when she does not look beautiful—her hair is a mess, her feathers are all rumpled, and her face is missing that special glow. When Penny focuses on the happiness in her heart, not even her messiness can stop her from feeling beautiful.

Roopa, why not ask/look for advice regarding self-publishing on Kindle Direct or some other platforms? You need to learn marketing skills!

I have a passion for reading (always have) and I have so much fun sharing that passion with my children.

message 597: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 1 comments Hello Everyone!
I have written my first children's book and fallen in love with the process. I hope to share what I have discovered along the way and glean insights from others as well.
My book is, The Hungriest Dragon: A Tale of Food and Friendship. It made Amazon's Top 100 Best Selling Children's Books on both free and paid lists. It was quite a learning curve!
I am in the process of completing my second book, title undecided as yet, but expect to have it published in September 2014.
I published my first book first as a Kindle and desire to know about others experience with Kindle publishing vrs. other publishing platforms in comparison.
Looking forward to more!
Best,
Kimberly

I am the author of Channel U, Once Human, Ariona: The Bounty Hunter, and Hunk and the Hydra. I love to write Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Fairytale adventures. When I am not writing, I spend quality time with my family, and I go body boarding at the local beaches in Southern California.
