message 405: by Gin (new)

Gin I'd just soon avoid the heart all together. CV is not my area.

message 406: by Sashana (new)

Sashana I go to Miami Dade College. Home of the (not so vicious) Sharks!

Maybe you guys could tutor me, Lisa Kay and Gin. I took my first quiz in Anatomy and Physiology on Monday and had my ass handed to me. I swear I had to stop myself from bawling when I saw that grade.

message 408: by Gin (new)

Sashana I would gladly help in anyway I can. Just keep the cardiac questions directed at Lisa Kay!

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments @Lavina - I'm from Seattle as well! I also used to be addicted to WoW although I switched to SW:TOR for something new. It still doesn't quite have my attention in the way WoW did, but it's time to move on.

I like to refer to WoW as "crack on a stick." :) Been playing since beta, which was an embarrassing 7+ years ago. I have friends who play SW:TOR and love it, but I just can't find enough time for a second game AND all the books I'm discovering on this site! (God help me when Diablo III comes out...)

message 427: by Jex (new)

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments Yea I've been off WoW since March and going strong. SWTOR was my replacement addiction though so I don't know how much better it is. Some days I'm still tempted to reinstall WoW.

Sharon (teeitup46) | 52 comments Just discovered this thread (so many to look at) and realized I hadn't posted yet: (Little bit about me:)

Weird stuff I’m into: Not really weird but whenever I get focused on a hobby or interest, I become almost like a hoarder, ie: books, X-stitch projects, PC games, challenges, music & video collections ~ just can't stop.
Why I read: It satisfies my soul! Just born with it, have always loved it since I can remember and with me, it's also inherited as my grandmother loved to read and my dad at 87 still has to read the paper every day.

message 429: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Sharon, I used to cross-stitch. Loved it, but my eyes went bad. Then I got glasses and never went back to it. Hmmm. I still have several fun projects. ☺

message 430: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments Sharon, I watched Hope Floats every day one summer. My grandmother's favorite line from that movie is still "Get the stink blown off of ya" and she says it when my sister and I have been lazing around the house too much. Oh, gotta love grandmas.

message 431: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (teeitup46) | 52 comments Lisa Kay,

Getting a computer started putting a damper on my time with X-stitch plus the same with glasses. Can see the close up to do X-stitch but need the glasses for the TV. When I moved my folks into asst'd living, I brought over a chest of my mom's unfinished stuff so hopefully, when retirement gets here, I can start finishing some of them.

Rachel,

There's just something about that sweet movie I love ~ the way she says "Bernice", Harry Connick, Jr (yum!!) and I loved the dance at the country hoe-down. Will need to watch it again since it's been a while.

message 432: by Lisa Kay (new)

message 434: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments There's something about it I love too. I don't know what it is, but it is a movie that gets looked over quite a bit in my opinion! Now I need to go watch it. It's all I can think about now. ;)

It is my "comfort food" and something that I know will always be there for me to enjoy.
