Paula Williams (daystealer) | 43 comments Yeah, I read 'em all and thought Jace was more about attitude, HE thinking he was hot, more than anything else. Sure he was good looking, but HOT is in the eye of the beholder. I wanna give Jamie the benefit of the doubt -- much rather have him than the too-old ALEX P.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That's the thing. I'm not upset, just hesitant. I do agree that the Camelot pic is decent, and I don't think he's ugly. At some times he does make creepy facial expressions, but maybe he just doesn't photograph well. Still photos are different from live action.

But he wasn't the only person that thought he was hot in the books... Some of his hottness did stem from his attitude, but he is supposed to be extrememly attractive. Jamie is way to girly looking. I am not trying to be mean, I really am not. It just really sucks when books are so fricken awesome and they go and cast someone who looks nothing (and I really do mean nothing) like the male lead in the book.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yeah, I saw this tweet she made :

Yes, Jamie Campbell-Bower is Jace. And yeah, I am really really happy about it. And no, I didn't know it was definite until just now either.

Paula Williams (daystealer) | 43 comments I watched some clips of Jamie on YouTube and, well, I think he can pull it off. Don't get Starz so I can't say for sure but he seems confident and when he is relaxed (off the set) he has a great smile. I think he looks best either when he's angry or smiling, nothing in between. And isn't that just like Jace!

message 206: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I didn't realize he was in Sweeney Todd! I'll have to watch that and evaluate.

I don't think Jamie is ugly. He's attractive, and if he can pull off the confidance and attitude then it'll make him more attractive.

My only concern was that he looked so young, as I said before. Jace had an 'angelic' face, so I think that fits. I just never imagined Jace looking young. But some of the pics I've seen look more mature, so I'm adjusting to it.

Jeanine (truejourney) | 120 comments I just watched the trailer for Camelot on youtube, and I think maybe, jusy maybe, he might be able to pull it off.. I really hope so.

Yeah I felt a tiny bit better after watching the Camelot trailer, not much but you know, a little : )

Don't get me wrong, I still feel like crying... I just saw a picture of Alex that looked almost exactley like I imagined Jace :( Oh well... Maybe there is still hope. Please, please make that boy bulk up just a little.. he is so super skinny. Jace is supposed to be lean, but muscular and strong.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) This statement from Cassandra Clare gives me hope :

He auditioned with Lily, and he and Lily had incredible chemistry that sort of blazed off the scene. I'm just sitting here watching this on my computer, and you know, he was not the only person they've ever sent me to look at. I've gotten lots of headshots and this and that, and I'm watching the audition and I literally started crying because that was my Jace and Clary on the screen. And it's an incredible feeling to see that even as an audition. This is amazing. He was snarky funny where he needed to be snarky funny, and he was badass where he needed to be badass. And he and Lily were incredible together.

Jeanine (truejourney) | 120 comments What I wouldn't give to see that audition tape... If Cassie says he's Jace, then he is. How can I argue with that?

J.D. Field (jdfield) | 47 comments don't really like it. The plot goes round in circles. Okay its fast apced, but in the 1st 2 books at least i don't think anybody moves forward.

message 214: by J.D. (new)

J.D. Field (jdfield) | 47 comments Also, Valentine is a crap villain. He does random things, just to help the story along. Like when the ship sinks everything stops and we have a bit of downtime? why? he's still got a massive army of demons and could completely kick all the nephilim asses if they weren't on a boat. But no. He takes a breather.
Should I read the 3rd one?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I had some issues with the first book, but loved the second. My guess is if you still don't like the second book, you won't like the third.

Unless you have a need to have to see series through to the end, I'd say go ahead and give it a pass. You gave the books a fair shot.
