Odd is one of my favorite Koontz characters."
To be honest, Koontz is not one of my favorites but he made something pretty special with this book and character. Actually, rereading it now I'm enjoying it much more this time around so it's likely that I'll be giving some of Koontz's other novels another shot now.

Just don't talk about Fight Club."
OMG, Chris, you crack me up.

Second Glance by Jodi Picoult is a great book! The beginning can be a little slow and confusing as well b/c of all of the characters that are introduced at the beginning, but stick with it, b/c it ends up being awesome :) Enjoy!!!

Don't give up on that one yet. It's very good with a satisfying ending.

Starting up on Boy's Life after some very nice recommendations ;-)

I read Boy's Life a couple weeks ago. It was fantastic :)

I finished We Need to Talk About Kevin which I thought was awesome. I also finished Origin which was some demon filled fun.
I ran through Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly and am now reading In the Blood which is ok so far.

Congratulations, Alondra!! That is a HUGE feat!

What do you think about Wizard and Glass, so far?"
Hi Dustin,
This is the year that I decided I would finally reread all The Dark Tower series so, this is my 2nd time through it since it was first published.
For the most part I'm enjoying it more on this second read than I did the first time.

This is also my second journey with Roland and his Ka-Tet. And I'm enjoying them much more this time around, too (especially the extensive back story in W&G.)
I'm glad you're enjoying it.:)

And I'm thinking about reading Bag of Bones next.

SWEET!

Hooked already.
I've set myself a challenge to read the Dark Tower series this year though x

Congratulations, Alondra!..."
Literally! I finished it today. I hated it, loved it; and ended up crying at the end. It was a lot of torture, and I am glad I finished it, but I will never again force myself to finish reading a book I don't enjoy. The ending was superb, though.

Click on the link above the comment box where it says, "Add book/author", and then you find the book you are looking for, and where it says, "link" or "cover", click the cover option. Hope that helps!

I did not enjoy the end either; i just wanted Roland to finally get "a break", so to speak. As I look back at it, it seems quite fitting. I still loved the series and will hopefully read it in its entirety again someday.
@Lucy, congrats on setting that challenge. The series is quite awesome and at points will work your nerve, but it is addicting. Before you know it, you will be a gunslinger too. Ka-tet

Isn't there a new Dark Tower book out later this year ?(UK) x

I'm *hoping* I can read the first four Dark Tower book by the time 4.5 comes out. Or, is that a bad idea?? I've never read any of them.

Thanks Kathryn ;) xx

Haha! I know! I have them all already! Just haven't started them yet. I'm such a nerd. :) I actually have pretty much everything of King's in the novel/short story area. I plan to start reading them after I finish Full Dark, No Stars! yay!

Yeah, its considered 4.5 :)

Reading the new one after the first four should be ok. But we can't say for sure, as we haven't read it. Heh. I'll jump on it the day I get my copy, so I'll know fairly soon after that.

Thanks Chris for answering this! I've been kind of worried about starting to read the series, then adding Wind Through the Keyhole where it goes, and finishing the series. But, I've thought it might be best if I read the series without it, then going back and reading WTtK....decisions, decisions!

Not sure if you will have enough time. The first book is the challenge, and it's not even that long. It is the story and the fact that our esteemed author was a kind of "lit" when he wrote it. You really have to plow through and not make too much out of it. Just remember some key words and definitions; ka-tet, sai, etc. Once you read the 2ng & 3rd books, it all makes sense. :)
