Ha, great title, Sharon!

I am now listening to Unleashed which is more my kind of book anyway.

Hey Lady Danielle I have gotten Dark Fever from Amazon because someone sold me on it. I haven't started it yet because I have several others to read first. Did you read this one? What were your thoughts on it?

Here is my review:

I feel silly to ask but what are GD's?
I'm currently reading

Meanwhile

I'm sighing a million sighs. At least real books can't break.

How did that happen! Knock it off the table or something? Deep breaths.

I think we've paid for three kindles but gone through six. :)
As for real books not breaking, my autistic daughter went through a phrase where she became obsessed with tearing paper. Let's just say we lost more than a few books during that period. ;)

I think she flipped it off the bed or something, no idea. So pissed.
I will not kick the cat. I will not kick the cat. I will not kick the cat. I will not kick the cat. I will not kick the cat. I will not kick the cat.

I had a cat hairball on my sheet music for Take 5, autographed by Dave Brubeck, so I know where you're coming from. ;-) Thanks for letting me know, though. I'll call customer service this evening.

Will start We Have Always Lived in the Castle this afternoon.

Going to read Out of Oz afterwards?

It has some impressive reviews--maybe it's time for me to pick up the series again. Love to hear your thoughts!

The first book in this series Urban Shaman was one of my first urban fantasy favorites and is still one of my top five. The whining in the next two books irritated me, that's something that I simply cannot deal with, not in books or real life either one so I dropped the series.
Last year, got Walking Dead from the library and Joanna has apparently moved through her 'ostrich in the sand' phase, so liked that book much better. I'm hoping this one is going on as well and if so, the series will go back on my 'buy to keep' list.

Oh, you didn't finish The Passage, Tracy..?

Going to read Out of Oz afterwards?"
Probably, though I don't think right away. I needed to take a huge break after Wicked and another huge one after Son of a Witch...I love Gregory Maguire but his books depress me so much. Need happy things after.

I'm not very far into Night of Knives yet but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts once you get into it.

Just finished, one of those that you don't want to put down. This one was pretty much back up to the standard of Urban Shaman. I'm going to have to go back and pick up books 4 and 5 in the series, apparently it took Jo two books to get through whining about not wanting to be a shaman and get her act together. She definitely has things together now and can't wait for the next one. She's heading for Ireland now.
I read this one so fast I know I missed some things, so need to add books 4 and 5 and re-read but she's definitely coming into her own with the power.

Trying to get done with A Clash of Kings, but this book doesn't seem to want to end...

I didn't get through it. Went on long enough I simply decided I didn't really care what happened to the characters. I do have that kind of problem with a lot of the so-called 'epic' series.
I sometimes wonder if I had been born 30 years later, if I'd have been diagnosed with ADHD and medicated ...

I'm sure Amazon will replace it, but for next time, or anyone else with a seemingly dead Kindle, if it looks physically OK but just won't work, it's worth trying a hard reset - slide and HOLD the on/off button for a full 15 seconds, put the Kindle down and wait patiently. Nothing appears to happen but then (usually) it reboots itself and all is back to normal.
Of course, if you shake it and it rattles, it's probably beyond help.

The latest in this series is Raven Calls which will be out the end of this month. February is NOT going to be good for my book budget.

I'll be interested to see your thoughts on this. As a lifetime horseperson, I love books with horses but too often the author really doesn't know horses all that well and I end up really annoyed with the book.

Carol wrote: "Look forward to your thoughts--it's on my 'to read' and I've heard many good things about it."
I can't comment on the realism of the horses, but I think the author was a horseback rider -- she thanks her parents for "protesting, but only gently, when we rode our horses bareback" in the acknowledgements, and here she says, "I loved the horses that I had growing up and in college, though I remember just how much work they were too, in the frosty mornings when your fingers are too cold to work." That said, I thought it was fantastic. Possibly the best thing I've read so far this year.
