yes, and the re-release books are price less than 1 dollar!! (only $0.99). of course i grabbed all 5 titles and just started with book 1.

Heartbreaking, no? LOL

That sounds totally cool. I don't know if I've read anything of yours. Will this be m/m?

Yup, it's m/m. I have a head start on it, but I paused to finish a couple projects I signed on proposal. Which was a good, good thing because I wanted to do more research anyway. :D

What name do you write under? (I have this bad feeling this will turn out to be a dumb question on my part.)

LMAO! I write as Kari Gregg. ;D
If you're looking for a story with high literary aspirations, you won't get it from me, though -- I write sex-filled, dark, angsty smut. I just work my buns off to write from a different, slightly skewed perspective.

I do. The only time I've refused was when some freakazoid on LJ contacted me and asked whether I had a copy of I Spy Something Wicked as it was the only one of my stories she didn't have for her torrent site.
Uh...HUH???
I fear I wasn't so gracious that time.

LMAO! Some people have balls.

I've thought about it.
It isn't even the lost revenue, whatever that might be. It's the self-righteous, blatant anti-social attitude -- very often coming from people who call themselves fans. And who really believe stealing books is somehow doing the author a big favor. I've read these conversations on these sites about how pirating is just promotion. Unfortunately it's promoting the work to people who, by in large, hope to continute to get the stories for free. That's really not a big favor.
Or the sites that take these books and then resell them, for example. There was one the other day advertising that she was selling these books lower than anyone else. Yes. That's because you're not sharing the profits with the person who created the work. And that's okay...why?
Anyway, there's no reasoning with people like that. Some of them are ignorant. Some are genuinely dumb. But most of them just want what they want and they don't care about anyone else's rights or needs.
Which must be a delightfully simple way to live.

They are fun to read; Good books, not great ones. I think they have a lot more competition now and the flaws may be more visible, but back fifteen years ago when they released I really appreciated finding m/m mysteries at all.

No josh..... it's not .... besides the first book was simply amazing ; but the author broke the couple and made one to marry a woman?? it's never gonna be the same :'[

Al is delicious. It was like seeing the world through different eyes. It's not a perfect book, I think, there was that part with that brief separation that wasn't very believable, in my opinion, I was expecting something different from Larry, but Al is a wonderful character. It made me think of how jaded we are, we'd be more happy if we re-learned to enjoy the simple things.

NOOOOOoooooooooo

O_O That's truly a case of balls covered in nuts.

KZ, is it very wrong of me that I first thought of some kind of chocolate confection after reading your comment?

But I got myself thinking about the SNL "Schweddy Balls" skit with Alec Baldwin. Now that's wrong.

By the way, thanks for Fugly. Read it recently.
There are so many talented authors congregating here, that it can be intimidating to post, let alone about chocolate balls (let's not forget Chef's from South Park!)

You're welcome for Fugly. Believe me, I thank you a whole lot more for reading it. <3

I've been meaning to read another J.L. Merrow book, but have been caught between Muscling Through and Hairy, Horny, and Over Here. I keep hearing great things about the first, but the title and the chance of a vicious jackalope sighting keep pulling me toward the second.

Ha! Keep those pirates on their toes!

Thanks for posting that! I've never been able to get into graphic novels/comics, but this is now one of my guilty pleasures, too! Are the online issues basically the same as the print version?

The print versions have some additional material with more explicit drawings, including full frontal. That's according to my GR friend who has the paper copy. In her words: "extra pages of smutty goodness". :D

I just finished
and thought it was wonderful. Dirty Kiss is Rhys Ford's first book and the beginning of what promises to be a great series.

This is one I'm really looking forward to. I had it and lost it on my Kindle. ;-P
Rhys is such a sweetheart. I hope this does well for her.

She can call herself anything she likes, I just wish to hell she'd get back to writing that New Orleans chef series.
(I shouldn't say that because I know how it feels when readers say that to me about X series -- but it's not that I don't want her to write anything else, I just want her to also finish up that series.)

I just finished Liquor and absolutely loved it! The thing is, it left me with such a satisfying aftertaste, I'm wary of reading Prime. It appears I'm one of those rare creatures who doesn't always want a good novel to be serialized. :)

You're a tease :(

Sometimes I wish GR had a "like" button.

Cheryl, I read one of those Deviations books; I don't remember if it was the first one or what. But, I agree. I didn't care for it at all, and was very bored.

But, you know, it got better. And of course, young people do enjoy lust and infatuation at first sight, then believing it to be forever. sometimes, it prob turns out to be. In any case, once she got the story rolling along, I did enjoy it. I'm not gifted enough to explain what she did well, but I can say that the beginning made me expect something very silly and kind of dumb. It wasn't dumb, and the story picked up in such a way that I read it through. I even enjoyed the prologue-y chapter at the end.
