Kenyons Minions discussion
Introductions & Administration

Hi my name is... **Introductions**

I've read up to Retribution.
I didn't care for Jessup, so gave up on the book quickly, and never went back to the series. I was wondering if I could skip Retribution, & Time Untime, read Styxx & Dragonbane and be okay?

Have seen you around these parts before. Welcome back of course. :) As for skipping Retribution and getting to the others...Have you read any of the CON books? Cause I think there is some stuff that tie in between those books and CON and eventually shows back up in a few details here and there later on. At least for the Guardian I think it was? But to be on the safe side, me thinks we should wait for Charlotte or Myst to verify that. As there are always fine details one can miss at times that are important clues later on.

We hope to hear from y'all on the boards here (and Megan, you're in luck, we'll be doing a re-read BOTM of the League series starting next month with Born of Night, so we would LOVE to hear your comments and thoughts!)
And to answer your question, Missyb, about skipping some of the books ... it should be ok, really. (Heck, I skipped around, myself, with the Dream-Hunter books, lol) Our lovely AG has stated over and over that each book is written to be a standalone, so no repercussions if you skip ahead. =)
Now ... not sure how much of Retribution you read, but I HIGHLY recommend, if nothing else, at least skipping to the very end and reading the bonus scene. ;) Other than that, though, it introduces a concept that appears later in Styxx's book, and it's sort of a lead-in to Time Untime (which does deliver a whopper or two). And the Guardian introduces a few surprisingly important characters, as well as a few details that come into play in later books. =)
Again, your choice completely. You shouldn't be completely lost if you skip those books, but certain scenes in the later books will make more sense if you do read them. And Dhfan is right, there's some awesome info in the CON books that come into play in the DH books. And it would be helpful to read Son of No One (do you like Thorn? There's a LOT of him in that book) before Dragonbane. =)
Whew ... sorry for the long post! But we hope to hear from you on the boards, here and there. =)

We hope to hear from y'all on the boards here (and Megan, you're in luck, we'll be doing a re-read BOTM of the League series starting next month wi..."
I read maybe a chapter or two of Retribution, years ago. I will skim through it at your recommendation.
Not sure what the CON books are. I have read everything (Dream, Dark, Were) including Dragonswan & some of the short stories, up to Retribution. I didn't read the Dream Hunter books in the right spot, but I read them.
Thanks for the info/recommendations.

We hope to hear from y'all on the boards here (and Megan, you're in luck, we'll be doing a re-read BOTM of the League series star..."
CON is the Chronicles of Nick series that is a prequel/sequel to the DH books. Chock full of interesting tidbits about his Malachai way of life and other things.

Have a look around, and feel free to drop in on some of our discussions and post your thoughts, whether they're about the books, or whatever book you're reading now ... or even just general chitchat. We look forward to hearing from you! =D

Welcome to the group and if you loved the League you can't go wrong with the Dark-Hunter books either. They are so interwoven but so beautifully done as well. Really can't go wrong with this author. Feel free to join in the discussions. Ask questions and the like too.

So this is long overdue.
I'm in the Midwest but born and raised in Europe.
I'm home right now on maternity leave with my beautiful newborn baby. He's a whopping 3 weeks old and I love him to bits.
I've been reading the DH series since Fantasy Lover came out and I've decided to stick with it until I find out who Savitar & Jaden really are hahaha!
I browse and read the different threads especially the ones with fan theories.
Have a great day, everyone!

Congratulations on the birth of your son, I'm sure he will give you many moments of joy. I have two kids myself (both teenagers now), and I do remember those days when each was first born. =)
If you ever get the chance, do feel free to post some of your thoughts on the books in the various threads we have going on. We're always glad to discuss things with fellow Menyons. =)

Happy to have you not lurking so much. And definitely look forward to your theories and ideas on stuff too. Never hurts to toss in new ideas from time to time. :) And hopefully one day your son will be a fan too of the books. :)

I am so glad I found this group, it was a little birthday gift to myself, my birthday happens to be tomorrow (21 August).

Welcome to the group and early happy bday. I will add you to our bday list too. Glad you are enjoying both series. Please feel free and hop in the discussion nd ask questions etc. Happy to have you with us. :)

(And Happy Birthday, too! =D)
Looking forward to seeing you on the boards, we would love to hear your thoughts and comments on the various books. The more the merrier, I say. XD

Looking forward to hearing more from you on the boards. =)

I'm Adam, I'm 26 and I live in Nottingham, England. I came across SK by mistake actually and fell in love with her style of writing and her characters. I love everyone's different theories and I really hope I contribute to them with you all!

Oh and feel free to dive in the discussions and meet other peeps. Most are a snoozing(where I should be taking myself here in a few), but yea it'll definitely be active after a bit later on. If you thought you weren't getting enough GR mail, you will soon have a flood in hours lol.

We would LOVE to hear from you in the threads, and we do welcome any and all contributions to theories. Because we are just full of theories, whether they are right or wrong. XD

How many of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books have you read? Inquiring minds would like to know. XD
(Oh ... and just to let you know, I deleted out the multiple copies of your post. For some reason, every once in a while, a post decides to clone itself almost spontaneously. So no worries, you're not in trouble. ;D)

I am happy to find to this place and feel I should wait until I am more caught up on the books to share more.

Don't hesitate dive right on in. Ask any questions you need to. We are more than happy to meet you and see the lovely Darcy as well. Definitely welcome your thoughts and theories and everything else as well. :)

Don't worry about not having read the books in order, I think most of us have skipped around a bit at some point. XD
Anyway, we hope to hear from you soon, we're always happy to meet fellow Menyons. =)

Welcome to the group. We have a discussion thread around here some place if you care to add your two cents over Dragonbane and other books too. So pull up a chair and enjoy. :)

(And sounds like you're not all that far away from me, I'm from Kansas. =D)

Love three of Sherrilyn Kenyons series'.
CON
DH
League.
Dark hunter was my favourite for years. I'll be honest League is probably my favourite now. DH close second though.
Whenever I can't decide on a book to read I always reread one of her series. I read all those three at least twice a year.

Welcome to the group. Glad to have ya with us and that is great that you enjoy SK's works so much. I agree with you on her being a go to of mine as well.

Happy to have you with us and glad you found the group. Glad you are enjoying the League books as well. :) Feel free to dive into the discussions and have you with us. :)

Always good to see another Dark-Hunter fan (and it sounds like you might be a League fan, too. ;D)!

I just recently finished reading the Dark Hunter series with Dragonbane (bless the reading list that I found on Sherrilyn Kenyon's website) and I'm now going on with Chronicles of Nick.
I love these books and this world and honestly I'm taking notes now so I don't miss any clues here and there... also re-reading the whole series for the same reason.
I guess you could say that when I like a book, I tend to analyze it and shred it to pieces to find every possible detail ^^
I still have to read The League, but I guess once I'm done with the Dark Hunter world, it will be my next target :)

And no worries on where you are most of us are about where you are or a little farther ahead. Others are re-reading champs! But how can ya not be when you in love with the AG!(Author Goddess). Pull up a chair and dive right in.
You might have a fight on your hands with Manuela for Vane but I'm sure he appreciates all praise by the ladies. ;)
