Kiah (tuki06) | 5 comments Hi my name is Kiah and I am just about to start reading these series by Ms. Kenyon. I have had so many people give me amazing recommendations about her stories and now it's time to dive in. I am just wondering if there is a "correct order" to read them in? I know that 6 of the series have overlapping and intertwining characters and timelines and I'm wondering what the best way to read them would be? Thanks for any help you can give!!!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Kiah welcome to the group,

Are you referring to the main DH series? Here is the reading order Kiah. Just follow that and you are good to go. :) https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... And if you read Dark Bites that have the novella stories in there too that is a great way to get those out of the way all at once.

Angie | 102 comments Hello Kenyon's Minions!! I only recently found Mrs Kenyon's work, after someone posted about the giant omnibus of Dark-Hunterverse novels being only $19 on a certain online retail giant. Even if I hadn't ended up absolutely loving the series, 22 or 23 books, including the companion I think, was definitely worth $19. I just started Upon The Midnight Clear, though I'm having a little trouble getting into it. I've had the same problem with the other two Dream-Hunter stories I've read so far, but I know that they can hold important info for upcoming books, most importantly, Acheron!! I'm from the middle of no where Missouri, though I did spend a decade in the amazing city of St Louis. Due to illness and a back injury I had to move "home", though in my heart, St Louis is my home now.

I have a question a out the link to the reading order of the books that Dhfan4life gave. It has the Companion right before Upon The Midnight Clear. Do I need to read that right now? I was planning to wait until I was finished with the whole series before I read it. And in "The Dark-Hunters (The Collection Thus Far), it's the last book included. I know Dark Bites is all over the place as for order of when to read them, at least by the list I'd been following, that I will very soon be checking against this list, but I don't want to miss any important info before I get to Ash's story, so I'd like to know whether I need to read the Companion before Acheron. Thanks! And this looks like a great, fun group! My favorite kind!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hi Angie and welcome to the group,

If I remember correctly and Shari can correct me if I'm wrong. But the reading order up there is as follows both from SK's site and following the release date the books came out in. Nothing wrong with waiting til you finish the whole series before you read it. But heads up it's going to be a quite a while before the series finishes. You'll quickly learn this is not one of those series where it is just X amount of books and it's done. As we are still awaiting some long awaited important character books that haven't arrived quite yet. So yea I say you can read it early and get it out the way. It's fun quick and definitely need a volume 2 as we progress along further in this series.

And yea Dark Bites with the correlating novellas in there are just little character inserts here and there between a few of the main novels. But another heads up when you want to read Fear the Darkness and Zeke's story, the fastest and best way to go about reading those is just getting Dark Bites. And in doing that can just read the other novellas at the same time too. :) Hope all that helps you out Angie.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Welcome to the group, Angie. Nice to meet you. Yes both the reading order on her site and in our dark hunter general discussion folder follows the book release date. Take your time with the series and ask any questions that come to mind. Someone will definitely be happy to explain something to you.

Thanks so much for the help with this app. LOL Unfortunately, I still can't get it to come up on my Kobo Arc. I clicked on your link and got it no problem on my computer but I can't seem to get it on my Arc. Nothing even comes close when I do a search. :( Maybe it's an American only kinda thing? Thanks anyways for your help. I will keep the app on my computer for now. :) Well, better get back to my reading. I am reading all about Aimee and Fang right now. :) What a juicy story this will be. Wolf and a bear. WOW!

message 1362: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Sorry to hear we couldn't help you get it working on your Kobo Erica. But yea, at least it works nicely on your computer. :) And yes I loved and sobbed so hard with Aimee and Fang's book. Quality reading right there.

Any and all help is appreciated whether it works out or not. LOL :) I did manage to get the app on my cell phone though.

As for Aimee and Fang, I have cried a couple times so far and I am only about 9 chapters in. I love how Sherrilyn puts so much raw emotion into her books. One of my absolute fave authors. :)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments So true.

And SK, is definitely beyond awesome like that. She knows how to help you release the emotions.

Amy Crooks Hiya my name is Amy and I am a read-a-holic.
I absolutely love books with sexy hero's, and romance. I am also a die hard paranormal fan.
I live in NZ with my hubby and two wee girls. When I am not reading, I spend my time as a nurse.

Does anyone else here reside in NZ? I would love to make some new friends who enjoy reading also.

Caryn Oles (carynoles) | 6 comments Hi! My name's Caryn. Just wanted to finally add my own comment here.

I was introduced to Sherrilyn Kenyon only a few years ago, by way of Role Playing on Twitter. Since then, I've kind of become obsessed. Last year, I was lucky and got to go to the Styxx launch party and this year, I'll be going to Son Of No One's party in a Atlanta. WUT-WUT!!

About me? In my 30s, I work in a doctor's office doing coding/billing, and most of my free time is spent reading.

I think that's enough for now, so, bye!!

message 1383: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Welcome to the group, Caryn. It's very nice to meet you. That's wicked cool that you were abke to go to the Styxx launch last year and going to the SONO launch. I hope you have fun. Would you be open to having a thread to tell us about your experience!? I'm sure lots of us would love hearing the inside scoop.

message 1384: by Caryn (new)

Caryn Oles (carynoles) | 6 comments I could definitely do that! That would be awesome.

Sounds like you are a lady that gets into the thick of things. Definitely would love to hear from you about the launch experience you have. :) P.S. That is cool on the role playing thing too. I used to be friends with some peeps that were into rping DH stuff too back in the day.

Hey, I just wanted to ask a question. What does role playing online involve. I have never done it but it sounds interesting :)

message 1391: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I technically don't recall all the in's and out's of rping online per se. But from what I remember, that friend pretty much said it was a group of peeps that she knew that got a domain for their group. Everyone made up their own characters but had to have some attributes from the DH world. Like some were were-huntes and had who their mate was. And then I guess they would spend time jotting up character stories or sequences that they would share in the group and merged it altogether some how lol. But if you want to see it more interactively there are quite a few RP groups on GR here actually. They might have different way of going about it though. But could prove to be interesting.

message 1392: by Caryn (new)

Caryn Oles (carynoles) | 6 comments I like to call Role Playing an "interactive" way to tell the characters' stories. There are canon (straight from the book/show/movie) and original characters (your own creation) and you just try to tell a story that fits in the world, whether it's Dark Hunters or something else. I've heard of it here on GR, but I see it a lot on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.

message 1393: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments role playing is more intense and better on mudds imo, but if u really enjoy it then doing it on forums and social networking is a way to kill time and u dont have to invest much time into it through those options

message 1394: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Thanks ladies. I've never personally RPed, so not familiar with all the in's and out's.

message 1395: by Amy (new)

Amy Crooks Thanks ladies. It sounds really interesting.
